Guest guest
, All I can say is wow! You are to be commended for your continued effort at good health. Because when it gets right down to it, no matter what your reasons for losing, if there is a lot of weight to be lost, it will make you healthier to do so. You are obviously committed to this end. Now, I have never had to lose more than 50 pounds, but I have read widely and here are some of my thoughts on fat. Sugar, white flour, and low fat are to blame. Sugar and white flour are evil twins. They raise your blood sugar. And this causes all kinds of problems. Low fat diets are about the biggest fraud perpetrated on America. (In my opinion). It took gallstones to teach me alot about weight. Read any book on low carb diets and you will get the right idea. I differ from most of them in that I believe complex carbs are very good for you and contain essential B vitamins for mental and other health. But high protein is not necessarily the answer either as it may contribute to some serious long term health problems too. I have three fantastic links to give that may help you. See Dr Mercola's diet at www.mercola.com See the Hallelujah Acres diet at www.hacres.com I personally could not do that one as it allows no animal products, but many people have reversed all kinds of health problems on it. My personal favorite and one I have used (you can see my before and after pics on her website) is 's Living Well plan at www.healthnbeauty.com She charges for membership, but you get recipes, group and personal support, and ideas for difficult weight loss. She has more info on the thyroid than I have ever seen in one place. When I got my liver cleansed, and cleaned up my diet (cut out sugar, white flour, and added LOTS of essential fats) the weight fell off like never before. I now eat much more freely, since the gb is gone, but if I see a couple of pounds coming on, I eat more fruits and veggies, cut out all sugar. I have just decided that I am going to regularly do a three day fast each month for better health. That will help too. Good luck with your problems. Feel free to email me privately if you have any questions. One more thing. Low fat diets can cause gall stones. And I always rebounded from low fat diets (after each pregnancy) by gaining all the weight back during the next pregnancy because my cravings were uncontrollable. On my high fat, trying to dissolve gallstones diet, I was totally satisfied. Dawn > What do you think, is my diet the culprit here? I am also trying to > start exercising more ...
