Guest guest
Below is an excerpt from one persons experience without a gallbladder. This was taken from a posting from a gallbladder support group. " Hello All, Watching my fluids and having some healthy oil has put an end to the run to the bathroom syndrome. In case you don't know what I am talking about. It has to do with having to run to the bathroom after eating if you have NO gallbladder. The liver still produces bile, however there is no gallbladder to store it anymore, so it flows into the small intestine. Normally, the small intestine reabsorbs it. However, in some of us some excess bile reaches the large intestine, partially coating the walls that are supposed to absorb water. In this situation, if you drink water or other liquids faster than you can absorb, it has to come out somewhere. Now, remember, bile digests oil and gets used up in the process leaving less or no bile to reach the large intestine and " foul " things up. So having oil and watching by liquuds, works for me. Guest guest
Thanks for posting that! This is exactly what I don't want. I went to my regular doctor to pick up my lab results before going to my naturalpathic doctor. The nurse printed out my results and said to me, " Just get it out. " I was taken back, but I expected it. She then went on about how after a year of pain she just had hers out and it was a " piece of cake " and was shopping that afternoon. I said that is great but I have heard that some people have diareah for the rest of their life. She quickly said " I don't " . I thanked her for her (unsolicted) input and also reminded her that she was the one who also told me I should stop nursing my then 14 month old -- which I did not do and was on my way to my naturalpathic doctor. She was asking a lot of questions about him and also joked about some old fashioned remedies that did not work. I laughed and left and just realized even stronger that I am the only one who is looking out for MY health they are just managing my illnesses. Guest guest
Naomi, you are right. You are the only one who can really watch out for your health. I have to tell you I think the nurse was telling a bold faced lie. I was down in a Lazy boy for almost a week. And I had the easy surgery. The gas they pump in you is extremely painful and takes awhile to leave. And walking any distance was very difficult and painful. I was in good physical condition at the time of my surgery too. (other than the gb :0 ) Dawn then went on about how after a year of pain she just had hers out and > it was a " piece of cake " and was shopping that afternoon.
