Guest guest
Hello Deidre, Artemisinin is the chemical extract of artemesia that has been used for years to combat malaria. It kills cancer cells through the same mechanism it uses to kill the malaria parasite, oxidation of iron. Artemix is not " stronger " than plain artemisinin, it is rather composed of three molecular varients with differing solubility potential. There is a large volume of research on artemisinin with regard to its pharmacodynamics. We know that the ability of the gut to absorb it declines fairly rapidly with use and we know that the liver upregulates enzymes to break it down more rapidly the longer it is used. It's best to pulse doses, giving it for 4 or 5 days, then taking a few days off. Artemisinin and Artemix are best taken with some fat at bedtime. The best fat may be coconut oil, or the whole milk of the coconut. Butyrate taken at the same time may have a synergisitic effect. No iron containing foods should be in the gut at the time of dosing. Doses of around 400 mg are probably about right. Attempts at larger doses will speed up the enzyme induction and shorten the half life of the artemisinin. You cannot get the desired effect by taking the herbal artemesia annua. There is not enough artemisinin in the herb to get the cytotoxic effect on cancer cells. Guest guest
Mike, I know all about Artemisinin as have talked at length with founders at Washington University Dr. Singh and Dr. Lai. http://www.ldn4cancer.com/media/artemisinin-050427-dr-lai.wmv If anyone needs further explanation or details, the following is contact information for Dr. Singh. He will gladly discuss his research and details. narendra@... Narendra P.
