Guest guest
Hi Caroline, Can't help too much on the Vancomycin, but Dr Usman prescribed Callum Nystatin on our last phone consultation. Nothing too wrong in that, but when I got the USA script and tried to get it in UK it was for 500,000UI at 3 times a day for 3 months. Our GP (well one of them at least) is quite helpful and has prescribe us 100,000UI (which is the strongest he can offer!!) at 3 times a day for 1 month (but says he will repeat if needed). Not started it so far - too many other things to go at, but gradually running out of supplements ;-) BTW: Just started (yesterday night) with some Authia cream (also suggested, by Dr Usman twice a day) and put about 1/5th teaspoon on the backs of his legs and rubbed in with a spoon. Callum was wriggling all over - he's rather ticklish and it smells really strong (like garlic I'd say??) Anyway last night / this morning Callum got us up at 2AM!! and couldn't settle him down. I got in with him to calm him down, but after a few minutes he was jumping out of bed terrified of shadows and looking all around him and spinning around and sitting on chairs with his feet lifted way off the floor. I stayed up with him until 5:30am, then Jo got up with him while I had an few hours. Anyway later this morning he was still doing the same periodically. I was wondering if this is a typical reaction to the Authia cream? I am careful to just introduce one thing at one - so nothing else has changed recently - just the Authia cream? Maybe I've given him too large a dose? Any ideas or comments? Thanks, Steve, Joanne, Callum & Ellie-Mae - XXXX - > Hi All > You know I said Dr Usman has recommended Vancomycin 100mg three time s aday > for 10 days for the Clostridial overgrowth, has anyone ever used this?? Guest guest
Caroline, we've had this prescribed a couple of times and it's hard to get here because in the UK it's given by IV. You'll probably need a hospital pharmacy to make it up for you. I don't know what to say about whether it makes sense to use something so strong. It'll be important though after giving whatever antibiotic you do give for clostridia to give culturelle or similar for 2-3 weeks later to get the spores of the clostridia, which apparently the vanco doesn't get. The small things they don't tell us! Abigail Vancomycin Hi All You know I said Dr Usman has recommended Vancomycin 100mg three time s aday for 10 days for the Clostridial overgrowth, has anyone ever used this?? I spoke with my GP about this today. I am originally way back in the mists of time a microbiologist so quite worried as this is one of the strongest antibiotics around - pretty strong stuff. Any feedback appreciated Luv Caroline xxx
Guest guest
Hi Caroline, We have used it; I bought it from a pharmacy in Belgium, it is very expensive. There was no major pb with using this, no more than Flagyl. I have not been able to test the clostridia again after this but the metabolites on the OAT tests went right down. Dr McCandless recommends a generic Vancomycin (not sure if generic is the right word, I mean Vancomycin, but not the same brand, way cheaper) but I can't remember how it was called. I got it prescribed from a practitioner in France; I would not even dear asking for it in UK. Good luck though! Guest guest
hi Lorene, I am in UK - why would you not ask for it? I ask because if the nystatin/probiotice do not work, we may go for vanco. Guest guest
Hi, yes we did a 14 day course last autumn and it worked very well. Charlie's OAT test showed he has a real problem with clostridia and at the time he started stimming for England. We haven't had to use it since because he is on nystatin 3 times a day to hopefully keep the bad bacteria under control. We used it on our DAN dr's advice. Guest guest
-Did you give it as an oral solution? I got prescription for oral solution and it is only found in capsules or IV in the UK. How did you manage to give it orally? Do you remember what was the dosage? Guest guest
Hi, yes we gave it orally - 2.5ml 3 times a day. Charlie drinks rocks org lemon squash so we hid it in that - ( it smells awful). I was surprised he took it but he also has eye q in squash which is yuk. We got it on prescription from the States - very expensive - $220 for 2 week course but it did work. Guest guest
Hi Peta, Thanks for the info. Did you need to get a prescriotion from a doctor in the states? I am asking because we have a prescription from Dr. Heard (UK) which as far as I understand cant be used in the states since he has not got an american licence. The IV version is so complicated and difficult to admin orally... Thanks again > > > > > > > > Has someone here used Vancomycin to treat bacteria ? > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi, yes the prescription was from our dr in the States. Our dr cannot give us a presription for stuff here so it's annoying and unfortunately works both ways Peta- -- In Autism Treatment , " bostfeld " <batel@...> wrote: > > Hi Peta, > Thanks for the info. > Did you need to get a prescriotion from a doctor in the states? > I am asking because we have a prescription from Dr. Heard (UK) which > as far as I understand cant be used in the states since he has not > got an american licence. > The IV version is so complicated and difficult to admin orally... > Thanks again > > > > > > > > > > > > > Has someone here used Vancomycin to treat bacteria ? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Can I ask who advised you on the homeopathic detox? Thanks Alison Pope <acmpope@...> wrote: After nearly 5 years at this, we are now “driving a truck through some outstanding issues” – with Dr Usman we are currently doing 14 days of Sporanox for yeast, then 10 days of Flagyll for gut bugs and in case of clostridia, and then we are going to do 3 months of Vancomycin for viral issues including strep, polio, and HHV6 After that we will then do sequential homoeopathic detox in order to help the body more naturally to correct itself and keep the baddies away. Great advice about propping things up with probiotics – and also Dr Usman recommends the use of natural anti virals and antifungals in conjunction with a regime of prescription anti fungals and anti bacterials. Mandi I am interested that you are so keen on Saccro B – it sent our little boy crackers when we went on an aggressive regime of it, but perhaps the prescription medicines will set him up a little better in order to benefit from Saccro B. Dr Usman was perfectly content that we carried on with Klaire Therbiotic Complete, and Klaire Detox Support and Primal Defense in some sort of rotation for probiotics. Don’t even ask about the cost of all this, it nearly sent me over the edge, perhaps explains why I have been more than a little quiet on the biomed front for a while. I am beginning to lose enthusiasm to be honest. Hope this helps someone.
