Guest guest
Hi All, I got to see my naturalpathic doctor today. I told him about my major attack last week, all the stress I have been under, the (bad) changes in my diet and my hormonal changes now that my 26 month old has weaned. He looked at my lab results. My liver is OK and my ultrasound shows my gallbladder is fine, ducts are fine. I just have gallstones (so don't a lot of people). I admitted to my horrendous eating habits this summer following the death of my father and a mild depression, the stress of an unemployed husband and to also have stopped taking my fish oil supplements. I told him my sugar cravings are as fierce as ever. And I also asked about coral calcium promoted by Bob Barefoot (on all these late night infomercials that I have been seeing while up all night with gallbladder pain). Knowing that my husband is not working he recommended the following diet and supplements to get my bile to thin out. First, he asked if I am exercising and I told him I had just started. As far as diet, he said high Omega three foods (fish). I asked about grass fed beef and he said that is fine but not grain fed beef. Chicken is fine. I should be eating foods high in complex carbohydrates. No white flour and no sugars at all -- no white, brown nor honey (sniff, boo-hoo). I have hypoglycemia (which my regular doctor says does not exist) and he said the sugars hyper saturate with cholesterol which makes it easy to crystallize with calcium and make gallstones. Because of my intense sugar cravings he wants me to try 5HTP " Lipopure Carbocurb " by Moss Nutrition before each meal. It is a sublingual (under the tongue) form of triptophan which he hopes will help curb my cravings – but right now since I have not eaten much in the last week my cravings have not been as bad so I will wait on that (I don't have the money). To get my bile to thin, he wants me to get up to 6000 mg/ day of fish oil (six 1000 mg capsules 3x a day), milk thistle (3x a day), lethicin (2x a day) and taurine (3 x a day). I printed out Dr. Mercola's comment about Beta TCP (which is taurine and beet) and he said that was fine. As far as the coral calcium he tested my saliva and it was between 7 and 8, which is already alkaline so he did not recommend coral calcium for me. He also recommended that I continue to take my colon capsules which is psyllium and other fiber with peppermint, which will help remove the cholesterol from my body. I also asked about the Livatone which is mentioned in Dr. Cabot's book and he looked at the ingredients and said that would be a good maintenance product for me but to stick with the above supplements until my gallbladder goes into remission. I asked if this is something that I will have to continue for the rest of my life and he said " Yes. But, you can probably get by with three months on the supplements, one month off " I hope that is helpful for you folks. It is someplace for me to start. I am going to continue on Dr. Cabots 8 week liver diet (I just got her " Healthy Liver and Bowel Book " and will take a look at it this weekend) and exercise and see where it gets me. I am really looking forward to making changes in my life and becoming thin! But, I had another attack in the middle of the night last night after having a boneless chicken breast with soy sauce for dinner and an apple drizzled with honey for dessert. I was actually so tired I woke up a few times but despite the pain was able to sleep several hours. But, I am just not going to let the pain get to me! Wish me luck! Guest guest
Dear Naomi, You are on the right track.I can feel for you. Last year I went through a similar experience. Diet and exercise are very imp. Also stress relievers are good. Try Camomile tea; or St 's wort tea or lemon balm tea. these can be bought in bulk at a natural foods store. (cheaper) On a limited budget, (I am too) you may want to try some of the supplements in a natural form. ex. yesterday I dug up all the dandylion roots in my garden. These will make a good liver tonic. And my favorite drink is beet juice + lemon juice and a clove of garlic. (I make the beet juice in my cheap $24 hamilton beach juicer. Good luck! ~Suzanne >But, I had another attack in the middle of the night last night after > having a boneless chicken breast with soy sauce for dinner and an > apple drizzled with honey for dessert.
