The diet was created by Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German bio- > chemist, who treated patients from around the world for over 50 years, > until about 2002, and had a success rate of over 90%. I followed the Budwig protocol, strictly, for 8 month, during which time cancer spread to two lymph nodes in my neck and tumor markers were on the rise. When I found the nodes, I strayed a bit, by adding LDN to that protocol. I continued to have spread ... this time to my bone marrow. In October, I paid Gammill a visit and he put me on an aggressive regimen that I have been following for about 7 weeks now. I have, for the first time, seen a distinct slowing down of my rising markers. Meanwhile, I did a food allergy test (to see what inflames my gut) and, lo and behold, I'm severely reactive to cottage cheese, pineapple, papaya, and buckwheat .... all mainstays of the Budwig protocol. It's no wonder that, with an inflamed gut, it didn't do me much good. I have no doubt of the effectiveness of the Budwig protocol ... I enjoyed doing it and felt really good on it, but I just wanted to point out that it is not the cure-all for every person. Nothing is. We just have to find what works for us as individuals. xxoo
