Rotating supplements?

I've just moved from Canada to the US, and am having trouble finding

a local doctor to prescribe LDN to me. I did receive a list via

email of several doctors in my state who do this, but surprisingly,

calling each one on the list has resulted in no luck so far.

However, I did locate a local ND who WILL prescribe the LDN for me

(she was not on the list -- just accidental).

But the ND insists on meeting with me for an hour, ($165) and then at

least 4 times during the year for at least 1/2 hour each time.

Perhaps this is important from a legal sense.

We were talking about supplements, and I mentioned how much I spend

on them ( a lot) and she was sure, due to what I was spending, that I

was wasting most of my money. She claimed that almost ALL

supplements needed to be rotated -- 1/2 time on, 1/2 time off -- for

them to be effective. This included such standards as vitamin C and

alpha lipoic acid.

She also added that I was probably damaging my liver by taking too

many supplements.

Well, now I am suspicious of whether this naturopath knows what she

is talking about, and therefore whether she knows what she is doing

in general. I have NEVER heard that (for example) vitamin C needed

to be " rotated " . This makes no sense whatsoever. The body has no

way to store water soluable supplements, and within just a day or two

of not taking them, you are out of them completely.

The other weird thing is that a large portion of my supplements are

FOR my liver -- SAMe, milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid, whey powder, a

full spectrum liver herbal formula...

I understand that some herbs do need to be rotated. I've read

discussions about how artemisinin needs to be " cycled " or it rapidly

loses its effectiveness. I've read that taking echinacia all the

time destroys its effectiveness, and that you should only save it for

when you are coming down with something. I'm not sure about other

herbs. But vitamins?

I'm just wondering if I should be paying his naturopath close to $500

a year for clinical visits when she may not know what she is talking

about. But I do need that LDN!!!
