Guest guest
This has been my experience as well. In preparing for my own surgery, I talked to a dozen different people who only 1 had ANY KIND OF PROBLEM whatsoever. I don't know if the statistic is true, but in my own research, it showed only 5% of those who had their gb's out had long term problems. I was afraid of being that 5%, but am very thankful that I was not. I will say that I have had more gas than I have ever had in my life. I am a little disconcerted over this, and would sure welcome any suggestions for that. Dawn However, in the interest of fairness, having read this post, I would have to offer this information. I know of at least six people who have had their gallbladders out; 5 women and 1 man. The amount of time they have been without their gallbladders ranges from one year to 20 years. Of the 5 women, not one has had any digestive problems or problems with diarrhea ( I am not totally sure about the man, he is my father's cousin and I have not spoken to him personally but have not heard any family rumors about digestive problems with him).
