I was reading that the Chinese olympic atheletes consumed great

quantities of the cordyceps mushrooms, which they claim greatly

increased the oxygenation of their blood. Anyone know anything about

these?

I'm confused -- I thought cordyceps was a type of mushroom. It is a

mixture? Why would Chinese athletes be taking NOW products? Oh --

LOL -- they are probably made in China, like 90% of the supplements

today.

Hello jrrjim,

Cordyceps is a mushroom. The Now product is a mixture of mushroom

extracts and cordyceps is in there.

Does anyone know anything about Immpower? My husband started taking

that a few weeks ago. He has a stage 2 brain tumor and is using it to

boost his immune system.

Should he switch to mushroom science?

Before I got well, I really relied on Cordyceps for energy and oxygen.

I used to pant when walking uphill and had to walk my bicycle since I

would get out of breath. Using Cordyceps fixed that, at least

temporarily.

If you want to get into more detail about Cordycepts get

Halpern's book, Cordyceps, China's Healing Mushroom.

I used to buy mine from a Chinese pharmaceutical company called

Tianshi. They have won many prizes for their herbal and other health

products. The mushrooms are grown indoors so there is no worry about

contamination as there is with outdoor mushrooms. I've tried the New

Chapter ones in the same quantity since they're organic and I feel

they are an ethical company but felt nothing at all as far as energy.

Mushrooms will always absorb toxins from the environments, like heavy

metals and radiation. While a brand may not play much importance with

something like Vitamin C for example, with mushrooms it's crucial to

know where they come from. People have actually died from using toxic

" healing " mushrooms so always be careful where you order from.
