Guest guest
, Flax seeds will add fiber and gently sweep your digestive system. If it was my body, flax seed crackers would be fine. It is not premarin........ Get it? Hugs, Johanne From: dorrnancy Sent: Friday, December 19, 2008 1:28 PM Subject: [ ] DO FLAX SEEDS PROMOTE ESTROGEN? My oncologist told me two months ago to stay away from soy, black cohosh, ginseng, red clover and flax seeds. Needless to say, I have been cautious about the flax seeds. Have not taken a drop of flax seed oil, but now and then I'll have something with flax seeds, even some raw flax seed crackers. My naturopath told me to stay away from the flax seed, but that he things she is wrong about the flax seeds themselves. Who is right????????????? Flaxseeds = estrogen??? And what about chia/salba seeds = estrogen???
Guest guest
, Flaxseeds are a weak estrogen. Soy is a strong estrogen. Weak estrogens bind to the body estrogen and keep them from activating, or something like that. Your doctors are wrong about flax seed. My ND told me it was essential to have flaxseed in my diet. But my stage of cancer was very different than yours. Flaxseeds have so many other good things in them that fight cancer, I would think they would be a good thing in the diet. The Budwig people feel that flax seeds on their own aren't going to help. They look at the chemistry between the oil and sulpher in the dairy and see how it shoots the good cancer killing stuff directly into the cancer cells. If you put the right kind of estrogen into your body, then it will help eliminate the bad estrogen. Not all estrogens are created equally. ar On Fri, 19 Dec 2008 20:28:17 -0000, " dorrnancy " <dorrnancy@...> said: > My oncologist told me two months ago to stay away from soy, black > cohosh, ginseng, red clover and flax seeds. Guest guest
Dear Perk: Thank you so much for finally clearing this up. I can't believe the B.S. that surrounds the myths and falsehoods that can really grind someone's grawl. But did I read this right, " In general, lignans protect against breast cancer in premenopausal women. There really is no protection for postmenopausal women. " I am postmenopausal. Guest guest
, I read on another website that there is evidence that flax seeds help postmenopausal women as well. ar On Fri, 19 Dec 2008 23:47:39 -0800 (PST), " Dorr " <dorrnancy@...> said: > Dear Perk: > > Thank you so much for finally clearing this up. Guest guest
Cheri: Yes! I have been post menopausal for 14 years and have gotten cancer twice since then. Guest guest
If your progesterone levels are low, you still can be estrogen-dominant! It is a misconception that post-menopausal = cancer-free Johanne From: Dorr Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2008 9:07 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: DO FLAX SEEDS PROMOTE ESTROGEN? Cheri: Yes!
