Thanks everyone for the advice. I really appreciate it. The problem with my mom

is that she can't eat veggies/fruit/nuts right now because she's got some pretty

awful " D " (sorry if that's a little too much info :) Docs have her on a " low

residue " diet which consists of white flour, meat and potatoes- how terrible is

that?! She literally can't tolerate what her body needs most right now. I even

tried juicing the veggies for her, but she was in so much pain, even from that.

She does feel better eating the pastas, etc., but I know those aren't the

nutrients that her body needs to fight cancer right now. Tough spot to be in.

I am hoping that after surgery she will be able to tolerate more so that we can

follow one of the more effective protocols (like Budwig).

So I guess no one has heard of this Flor-Essence? I heard that it was so

popular with cancer patients, but I can't seem to find anyone that has ever

tried it.

Thanks again,

Kim

Hi Kim,

I'm so sorry about your mom.

We've got people in the group who used Flor-Essence, they just haven't chimed in

yet. Unfortunately, the search mechanism for the group messages hasn't

been working well, but you can certainly try a search to see if it brings up

previous discussions.

hi everyone, i am prettynew to this group and i'm not real sure how it

operates. i get the feeling that alot of people know each other and are

familiar with their stories. is there a spot where i can meet people on

this sight and read their story. maybe like an introductory page?? i have

been reading some of the discussions but i feel like i don't know the

history or anything about the people. my husband is on the burzynski

clinic trial and has been for 10 months. this last mri showed a 9%

decrease in his astrocytoma brainstem tumor. i am hoping for another good

report in 4-6 weeks. anyone else out there heard of this or tried it or

know ofsomeone who has?? side effects right now are very unpleasant, but

are not doing permanent damage like chemo or radiation. please respond

to personal email. (Moderator edited out email address to avoid spam problems)

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I think I dosed her too heavy

to start; we should have started slower and built up to full dosage with the

Flor-Essence. It probably just threw her body out of whack. I may try it again

building up slowly. Whether it works or not, only time will tell, but at least

it won't do any harm.

Thanks again everyone. :)

times--had two stem cell transplants. I used Essiac tea throughout, even between

relapses. Also used ginseng and astragalus. It really didn't help--the cancer

kept coming back. That's my experience. I don't know if there is any research

about Essiac's effects either on cancer cells or boosting the immune system.

I agree big time on the importance of diet. I just finished " Anticancer: A New

Way of Life " by Dr. Servan-Schreiber and it was wonderful. There are many

detailed chapters on how to reform your diet to fight off cancer. He has

suffered from brain cancer and is still alive and kickin', full of inspiring

optimism and energy.

A great big THANK YOU to everyone that replied to help with my initial

questions! My mom and I just got back from vacation and I told her that I have

so much amazing, helpful info to compile, courtesy of you.

With regard to alkaline/acidic diets, I have another question, which I will

start under a different header. Thanks again to all of you. Your strength

inspires me so much.
