Guest guest
Good story. I wish more people who had control over our " dining out experiences " were as health conscious as you were/are. My son just started his Freshman year at college and hasn't decided on a major yet. The " medical " industry is and I think will always be a strong field. I'm trying to talk him into majoring in nutrition with a strong focus on, not only food that is good for you, but food that has disease fighting properties. I think that field would be wide open to anyone who cares about such things...like nursing homes, resorts, hospitals, retirement cent ers, etc. But at this point in his life his major focus is in trying to get a Frisbee team together... " KIDS " . Bob arlynsg@... writes: I have a funny coconut oil story. A few years ago, I was the concessions manager for a non-profit youth circus that toured New England every summer. After a lot of studying of ingredients, and how to make our concession food healthier, I decided to switch to organic popcorn and coconut oil. (On a side note, I tried to find ways to make the cotton candy healthier, but finally had to give up on that folly) Anyway, most of the New Englanders were thrilled with the switch to organic popcorn and I had information sheets available for those who were concerned by the coconut oil. One woman came through the food line with her two children. When she found that we were using coconut oil to pop the popcorn, she said, " I wouldn't put that poison into my children's bodies! " And then bought two cotton candies instead. Huh???? ar
Guest guest
Hi Bob, Too funny! I remember college...barely... What we need are more nutritionists who will evaluate people's individual needs. I went to a well-known nutritionist a long time ago. She gave me the exact same diet that she gave everyone else. Craziness. My father had paid for the session, and I told him he should get his money back because she was just a fraud. But of course, he wouldn't listen to me. ar > > Good story. Guest guest
> Bob It sounds like your son is already somewhat into health. He is playing frisbee. At least he is getting good exercise and fresh air. GB > Good story.
