Guest guest
Artemisinin works by oxidative stress in reaction with iron in the cancer cells (Cancer cells often sequester plentiful iron stores). The problem with the Vitamin c is that, although it increases the absorption of iron in the intestinal lumen, it is also a robust antioxidant in cellular cytoplasm. Liposomal vitamin C in particular is great at getting across the membrane into cancer cells. You can get levels up this way that rival the results of intravenous C. The problem here is that high levels of C might quench the reaction with arte vs. iron and hydrogen peroxide generation will be blocked. The best I can suggest is to give the two things (arte and liposomal C) as far apart as possible. Also be aware that the arte should be taken on an on/off schedule. Perhaps 5 days on and 5 days off. This is in order to do two things...1) keep the absorption up. Absorption falls off rapidly by day 5 with arte.....2) prevent the upregulation of degrading enzymes. Enzymes that break arte down are stimulated by taking it for more than a few days.....Papers on this are available online since arte has been used for quite some time to treat malaria. Guest guest
Should say R on the label, like this one. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU251/ItemDetail I believe for short term use the R-S is ok but I believe after awhile the S causes problems for the body, which is something you do not want. > Now that you mention it, I'm not > sure. Guest guest
Here are a couple of web sites with some info. http://www.advance-health.com/rlipoicacid.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipoic_acid > From: gs1 <grapeseed1@...> > Subject: [ ] Re: LDN, Alpha Lipoic Acid & Breast Cancer > > Date: Friday, August 7, 2009, 10:10 PM > " I believe for short term use the R-S > is ok but I believe after awhile the S causes problems for > the body, which is something you do not want. Guest guest
For breast cancer, you may want to look into Gerson Therapy as well. jen - From: zahavi <zahavi100@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN, Alpha Lipoic Acid & Breast Cancerlow dose naltrexone Date: Monday, August 3, 2009, 12:17 AM you should contact dr berkson and ask the question.listening to his radio interview, when the ALA is oral it does its works almost only in the liver.when you do it iv it goes to all parts of the body.>> Does anyone think intravenous Alpha Lipoic Acid might be a good idea for breast cancer? Dr Burt Berkson seems to use it with his cancer patients.> > At the moment my wife is taking 4.5mg LDN at bedtime together with 1200mg oral Alpha Lipoic Acid. So far there haven't been any side effects. She's been on LDN for nearly 2 months. She also takes 10,000mg Liposomal vitamin C, 300mg Liposomal CoQ10 and 6000IU vitamin D3 plus a number of other supplements in lower doses, as well as 400mg Artemisinin (morning and evening on an empty stomach with some yoghurt and flax seed oil), and 165mg Maitake Pro-D Fraction.> > Thanks for any suggestions.>
