Guest guest
Hi all, I just had my first colonic last week, and thought I'd share a few thoughts. After doing as much research about what the benefits/risks involved are, and researching the best person to go to, I decided to give it a try. It was definitely not what I expected. After doing so much bowel cleansing and liver cleansing, I kind of expected it to be a breaze. I experienced several episodes of breaking out in a cold sweat, and dizziness. I'm guessing this was an autonomic nervous system response, not necessarily indicative of anything wrong, but it was not pleasant. The " results " were good, and I'm scheduled for a couple more. The practitioner performing the colonic basically said that the liver cleansing would not be as effective without doing a colonic first. I'd not heard that before, and am wondering if anyone has any light to shed on the subject. He said the herbal bowel cleansings I've done were not sufficient to clean the bowel, and the toxins released during the liver cleanse basically would get recycled in the body if the bowel is not " clean. " Sometimes it's hard to determine fact from fiction when researching the benefits of alternative health methods. The medical community turns their nose up at the mention of colonics, and I did read a report by a watchdog group that said colonics have no benefit whatsoever. But, when you look at the pictures of diseased bowels, and realize that most Americans, with their processed diets, have bowel problems, and high rates of colon cancer, well.....let's just say that I don't trust the medical ideas of health care.
