, please be aware that virtually all the " alkaline " water systems I

have tested using calibrated pH meters do not produce the actual

alkaline or acid water levels they claim. Even the $4000 Kangen machine

is off considerably unless religiously kept clean and re-calibrated

regularly, a step almost nobody does. Kangen proponents - do you send

your machines back to the factory yearly for cleaning and calibration?

The actual water pH produced by all the units I've tested has been

closer to neutral 7.0 than indicated, for example, only right after

calibration does an alkaline water machine produce water at pH 9.0 or

higher - by a month or two after calibration the water will be closer to

8.0 or even lower, conversely when producing " acid " water, the machine

may indicate pH 4.0 but it's often producing water at 5.5 or 6.0 pH.

None of the machines I've tested actually measure the pH of the water

they're producing, they just indicate what they're told to say by the

microcomputer inside them.

Yes, these machines are definitely better than drinking tap water, but

they're not always doing what they say they're doing, especially as they

age from factory calibration.

Reverse Osmosis water processors, which are a far different animal than

the Alkaline water machines, tend to produce slightly acid water in my

experience, and also have considerable waste water.
