I cannot afford healthcare. I also do not have any healthcare insurance. My husband and I cannot afford it. I worked in a hospital for many years and really do understand what you're saying. I have also only met one person who was happy about their GB surgery. But that doesn't mean that there aren't many who are happy, just I haven't met them. And if I had health insurance and just had to have GB surgery, I shouldn't wouldn't do it at the hospital that I worked at. That's for sure. Guest guest
I completely agree with you about the insurance and what happens to you if you are sick without it. I had it happen to me last year before I got on Medicare. I fell down 14 stairs and got a 9 inch laceration below my right knee. The hospital ER gave me the minimum care. To make a long story shorter, I almost lost my leg and my attorney reviewed the case and care, and I couldn't sue them. There is a crisis in America for the underinsured. I have a 4.2 cm gallstone and refuse to have surgery. My Medicare internist gave me the card of a doctor who is a Candidate for Surgery something. I am not anyone's guinea pig. I am working, with the help of this group, to try and dissolve and pass it. Besides, from the size I feel it may be a clump of smaller stones. At any rate, it I pass them, I am blessed much more than if I asked for surgery to remove it.

Many of us simply cannot afford to find insurance. My husband and I both are self-employed and we just barely make ends meet anyway. We tried several years ago to find health insurance for us, but the one we found was one that didn't seem that good, plus it was so very expensive. Now many companies are canceling their employees group policies because it's becoming too expensive for them. I know that some people MUST have surgery and MUST have certain medicines, but I think that we also MUST take charge the best we can for our own health. Take care, Susie
