Has anyone been there? Would you be willing to share your

experiences? I am leaving for there tomorrow night. I have been on a

natural plan, mostly developed by me and my research, which is scary,

since my diagnosis of colorectal cancer with lung and liver mets. I was

not going to go until mid-December so that I could have my scans re-

done at 12 weeks, but I've been so sick with high fevers for the last

three weeks, I feel it is a good time to have someone checking on me.

I have not found an alternative practitioner that specializes in cancer

in St. Louis, despite many tries. I have a holistic GP, but she is not

specialized enough to feel comfortable treating my cancer...so off to

CTCA.

I would appreciate your feedback on this option.

Thanks in advance,

Mitzi

Mitzi,

I go to CTCA in Philly. I just got back from there.

I was talking to a woman that had what you have. She is NOW

cancer Free. She is on maintenance drugs, and is doing wonderfully.

Which one are you going to?

Over the years the overriding consensus is that CTCA are primarily Conventional

treatment centers with some nutritional and other complimentary protocols thrown

in.

We keep hearing reports that the stress is on conventional treatment heavily

geared towards chemotherapy. By design they have no other choice or they would

be quickly branded as 'quacks' and most likely closed down.

Today we heard the expression, 'Cancer Free'. What an open-ended statement.

How many of us have heard about someone being 'Cancer Free' only to learn that

'it returned'? With a vengeance. Actually it never left but rather was

undetectable.

It is the run-of-the-mill arrogance of the medical profession stating, " we got

it all " when they do not even know what 'It' is most of the time. Millions of

cells can be involved when cancer is present and it is arrogance to believe they

can 'kill' all of them or remove all of it.

Sometimes, when the body has encapsulated the cancer within a tumor, one can

hope they did get the tumor out without any cancer cells escaping (seeding)

through the lymph or other system. There is also the possibility that, after

having removed a tumor or killing enough cells, the body's immune system is more

able to fight better.......providing the heroic radiation or chemotherapy didn't

wreck our body's defenses first.

However, to repeat earlier advice, if one is going to go the Conventional route

then perhaps CTCA is a better option..... except for the insurance questions

that came up.

Regardless of what one does, it seems prudent to work with someone that knows

what works and what does not rather than self-treat cancer without the kind of

support needed.

Mitzi, I went to the Zion CTCA for a 3rd opinion.  CTCA foundation is around

conventional treatments with non-conventional treatments thrown in to compliment

the standard 3.  My experience was not a good one at the Zion CTCA as it became

a big sales pitch, doctors trying to scare me into treatment, and a nurse that

stared at me for two hours writing in a note pad (weird).  They did offer to

subsidize any expenses that insurance didn't cover and they have much more to

offer (e.g. on site support groups) than a standard doctor's office.

,

Thank you so much for responding!  I am going to the one in Zion Illinois.  I

have been so afraid of receiving any kind of traditional treatment.  I

appreciate your response.  What kind of cancer do you have?  Do you believe your

CTCA treatment is beneficial?

That happened to us 12 years ago in Mexico as well. We went for our daughter who

was 5 at the time and me! I came back with mixed feelings from the whole

experience.
