Guest guest
Hi Vic, >Victor Swiercz <roadmst1@...> wrote: <<diets for 4 blood types...blood type B. It is my understanding that following a diet for your blood type is of great benefit>> I've read extensively about the blood type diet (ER4YT), and it's clear to me that it's validity and usefulness is greatly exaggerated. That one has a blood type B or O is NOT a reliable indication that one will benefit from eating beef. Some blood type Os and highly sympathetic dominant and do fine on a vegetarian diet, and some blood type As and Bs are highly parasympathetic dominant and need a lot of red meat. According clinicians I've spoken with, as well as Wolcott (2000 [www.metabolictyping.com], pp. 277-279), the foods PROHIBITED by D'Adamo for one's blood type are more reliable than the recommended foods. I think these prohibitions are valid mainly for people w/digestive problems, leaky gut, or food allergies/intolerances. Accordingly, I might minimize or be cautious w/the " AVOID " foods for one's blood type. These foods definitely cause problems for many people (particularly those w/leaky gut syndrome), but not all people. Otherwise, my impression is that blood type should be only a small consideration in one's choice of foods and supplements (www.metabolictyping.com; www.bloodph.com/research/mtatype.html; www.bloodph.com/articles/metabolic-eating.asp). 1 clinician I respect reports that Blood-type Bs should particularly beware of PORK, CHICKEN, tomato, peanuts, shellfish, CORN, and WHEAT. > probiotics being taken by cancer patients. Other good brands are www.Megafood.com and Optiflora (www.shaklee.com/20639.html; expensive; " triple encapsulation...[contains] a prebiotic...fructooligosaccharides, inulin and Jerusalem artichoke...start off with a 1/4 [tsp] " " I agree...I have tried a lot...None...seemed to benefit the entire digestive system like Optiflora...excellent results " www.health./group/polymva/message/10862 There are many other good brands in health-food stores. > It seem enzymes are important as well, any ideas here? Do you mean low-dose enzymes taken w/food to help digestion, or high-dose proteolytic enzymes on an empty stomach to combat cancer cells? (Each of these is quite valuable) Any specific questions about them? Leonard
Guest guest
: Thank you for this info. That is the Brand the nutritionist recommended to us at the health food store. She too is a long term breast cancer survivor and is taking the Wobenzym. Out alternate cancer doctor recommended a book for us to read about enzymes and cancer, we are going to buy the book to educate ourselves further. I the mean time I want my wife to get started on a proteolytic type of enzyme. We also joined a ovarian cancer group, we are trying to learn what other long term survivors are doing. The problem is this group meets only once per month. It is my opinion that getting first hand information from actual survivors is very important. I want to know what is working for others who are actual survivors. A woman down the street is a 10 year ovarian cancer survivor and she has helped us a great deal. We are doing many of the things she is doing but I want to cover all the bases and learn as much as I can. I can not tell you what a great help she was during our time of great difficulty. Guest guest
Hi Leonard: " Accordingly, I might minimize or be cautious w/the " AVOID " foods for one's blood type " Thanks for the info, both my wife and myself came to the same conclusions. However there are certain foods we are looking into that D' Adamo claims to allow the immune system to recognize cancer for her blood type The chemo really did a number on my wife's gut flora, I expect it will take months to correct. As far as the enzymes go, we are still in the learning phase and need to know which are the most effective proteolytic types needed. I am surprised there is not more mention of the importance of vitamin D. What is your take on Miatake and ABM mushrooms. Vic
