Guest guest
There are general purpose strategies in detoxing that are quite well known to all -- simply comply with the implicit cannons of nature. That is, avoid chronic ingestion of toxins (oral, transdermal, respiratory); go on a fasting type diet with plenty of hydration/flushing; exercise, deep breathing of fresh air/oxygen, sundry skin-flushing detox baths (various brines and infusions); saunas-sweating; massages; adequate night-sleep in a dark environment; capture some sun; shift into a fruit diet to cleanse intestines; replenish colon cultures; don't allow yourself to dwell on the negative (e.g.,fear, hostility); relish simple amusements, intimate friends, and sharing your bounty; clean and organize your environment for symbolic consistency. Many people find great value in adding a specifically spiritual aspect to their ablutions. When dealing with acquired chronic pathologies I tend to be more aggressive with the forestated base program. After history, testing, and observation it is a matter of working on the organ systems (e.g., epidermal-mucosal barrier functions, reticulo-endothelial filtering functions, excretory functions, hematopoietic system, lymphatics, endocrine and autonomic function). This is followed by -- or concurrent with -- pulling toxin types from the tissues depending on the person's health problem. This includes heavy metals and their cations, halo-organics, organophosphates, surfactants (including quaternary ammonium compounds), endocrine disruptors, petroleum products and solvents, silicone, airborne and waterborne toxins, and some of the toxins that may have accrued from commercial foods and pharmaceuticals. Fortunately many of these toxins can be removed together using simple techniques. Unfortunately there are: -- harmful synergisms among many toxins just as there can be desirable synergisms among medicines -- some toxins that are impossible to completely remove as they are compartmented, they are bound to body tissues, or they are too close in physical properties to desirable compounds -- some toxins are yet to be identified I hope this helps in organizing your thoughts on detoxification. As I find time in the future I may write on the various chelators, methods, and other tools that I use, their rationale, and their limitations.
