Guest guest
Hello all, I am new to this forum and have not posted anywhere regarding my daughters situation but am looking forward to any information or suggestions you can share. Late Nov07 she was diagnosed & we started her 1st round of chemo early in Dec. Oral chemo is taken each morning as well as an IV dripped in once a month. At this point I had read to the point of exhaustion every piece of medical literature regarding her situation with it ending up at the same place and time frame. It was at this point that I started looking into the natural healing suppliments & programs and was quite encouraged by what I was coming across. I was also eager to try her on the FOCC that I had recently discovered but figured that I would run into problems as she is picky eater as all kids are. To my disappointment she only ate 1 spoonfull of the first mixture I made & refused to eat any more. Not to be thwarted that easily I tried a smoothie recipie that I came across that was delicious, even the other kids thought so, but she wont drink that either. I then spoke to natural health advocates regarding suppliments and started her on IP6, Epa/Dha Omega3, Acidophilus, CoQ10,,,,,,,,,,,,, the list goes on. At the 2 month point another CT was done and revealed that the largest 3 of the many lung mets had shrunk & there were dead & dying spots in the primary tumor on the liver but the tumor itself had gotten slightly larger. We took this as good news ( and it was so good to finally get some )as the Onco didn't expect to see any change. She has been ok with taking capsuls up to her 3rd round of chemo. After that she has been quite nauseated & can only take a few capsuls a day without throwing up. This lasted for 2 weeks. A week ago we had a meeting with the Onco & another Dr and they were proposing a Chemo-embylization for the 2 large lobes of the liver. They aparently don't usually do this for patients with mets but because of the shrinkage of the lung mets they figure that with continued use of the oral chemo while they do the embylization the lung tumors will not grow. My question is if any of the readers of this forum have undergone this treatment, what are the side effects & how severe are they. My wife & I are considering not having her undergo any more chemo and start the BP but would like to get some feedback from anyone with a child going through this or similar and strategies for implementing the BP with kids. Thank-you in advance.
Guest guest
First of all, sorry to hear your young daughter has to go through this at all. I would say look into alternatives like apricot kernels although they are very bitter and the Budwig protocol which you can find out online which isn't too bad if she's picky as she'll be eating cottage cheese and flax oil everyday, you can make it into a salad kind of mayo or like a custard type topping on top of friuts, along with taking sun and exercise it's not to bad in my opinion.
