Guest guest
The tests are expensive and unneeded by most cancer patients. The test is a very good choice if a person is worried about having cancer but doesn't know where to start looking, is unenthusiastic about diagnostics that include significant amounts of ionizing radiation, or simply wants supportive information. Guest guest
Schandl's test is an expensive and unnecessary way to go. The tests are conventional, it is just that some are rarely used. They are all tumor marker tests of varying degrees of accuracy and utility. If a person has a good diagnosis they can limit their testing to those tests that have shown themselves useful. If there is still some question and your cancer is active then you might do Schandl's test once to see it there are other indicators to monitor. It might even inspire fresh ideas as to treatment. Not all of your cancer cells will express a tumor marker for which you are positive. It is not the best idea to treat the marker such as through a monoclonal antibody or a vaccine as you end up selecting for the survival of those cells that don't express the marker. Many tools are very useful in cancer therapy as long as you recognize their limitations.
