Guest guest
Helping others is great, but do some of them even if they're NOT for a specific charity, though there are a zillion of them. Check with a local athletic or running store and they should have lots of events posted. Same for websites for such things. Around here there is something almost every weekend. I forget where you live, but if you remind me I'll do a bit of digging for you. Remember, whatever the event, there will be elite runners who are out to set records, but there will always be people who are just walking the whole thing, even if it is a marathon. Don't be put off by the skinny dudes in little shorts and shoes and maybe a tank top. Besides, never hurts to look, does it? Doesn't hurt me to look at the women runners.... :-) Besides, you're getting exercise, you're usually helping others, you get some cool tshirts, and most important you're improving YOUR health. Tomorrow I'm doing a 10K runwalk (6.2 miles) to support the Peace Officers Memorial here, which honors all fallen officers in the history of the state. Interesting, some go back to the olden days, like 1880, and the stories of the events are like reading a western novel. Of course some are current, shot by drug dealers and such, too. Anyway, there are a multitude of causes, but as Sandy said, please don't solicit contributions here, as if all of us did that for every good cause, we'd be buried in messages. cheers dan Thursday, April 24, 2008, 2:16:47 PM, you wrote: > Thank you for your support!
