Guest guest
Jim, if you want that stuff to stick to your gut, then add l-glutamine to your plan....maybe 5000 mg on an empty stomach when you get up in the morning. It heals the gut and prepares it to accept the bacteria. Johanne From: jrrjim Sent: Sunday, January 04, 2009 10:55 AM Subject: [ ] Best way to get intestina flora back up to speed? I just had to take a round of antibiotics. It was unavoidable, and I now need to get my intestinal flora back up to speed. What is the best and quickest way to do this? I am currently taking 4 - 6 " PB8 " pills a day. I took them throughout the course of antibiotics, which was probably a waste, and I am continuing to take them. Guest guest
L-Glutamine... ??? Well, I'm taking whey isolate, which has 10,000 mg of l-glutamic acid in it per serving. Is this the same thing as l-glutamine? This is one reason why I like whey isolate so much -- the economics of it. I THINK I am getting large doses of l-glutamine, lysene, proline, and the sulphur containing methionine and cysteine for a very economical price versus taking supplements separately. On the other hand, maybe l-glutamic acid and l-glutamine are different. Organic chemistry is not my strength. > > Jim, > > if you want that stuff to stick to your gut, then add l-glutamine to your plan....maybe 5000 mg on an empty stomach when you get up in the morning. Guest guest
Plain old yogurt will accomplish the same thing you are trying with all the pills, and cheaper. Guest guest
Hi Jim, If you are not allergic to whey, then this is a GREAT product! l-glutamine is specifically to heal the lining of your gut, no other forms.....your gut is your immune system. Without it, you are toast! If you do yogurt and your gut is inflamed because of food allergies, the good bacteria will not be able to populate the hurt gut! It's just a thought for you my friend! Guest guest
So l-glutamine and l-glutamic acid are different? I would think they are the same. But I am not a chemist. > > > > Jim, > > > > if you want that stuff to stick to your gut, then add l-glutamine > to your plan....maybe 5000 mg on an empty stomach when you get up in > the morning. Guest guest
I would take bacillus coagulans, at least two on an empty stomach in the morning and some during the day. http://search.lef.org/cgi-src-bin/MsmGo.exe?grab_id=0 & page_id=637 & query=bacillus\ %20coagulans & hiword=BACILLE%20COAGULAN%20COAGULANT%20COAGULANTS%20bacillus%20coa\ gulans%20 Above is a web site with info on it. One brand is Source Naturals, DuraFlora. At night before going to bed, I would do an enema, with two oz's of distilled water and open two of your pb-8 caps, mix and try to keep in all night. Not giving advice but this is what I would try. > From: jrrjim <jim.mcelroy10@...> > Subject: [ ] Best way to get intestina flora back up to speed? > > Date: Sunday, January 4, 2009, 12:55 PM > I just had to take a round of antibiotics. Guest guest
I would eat lots of garlic. It kills all the " bad bacteria " and leaves the good. Guest guest
I've done that for over a decade and love it but.................I am severely allergic to it and it severely burned my intestines. That was new revelation to me (very disappointing) and I had to find out what else could heal the gut. Just a thought!
