Guest guest
Leigh, First of all let me say, WELCOME!! I'm glad you found us. I think you will find all the answers you are looking for as well as great support and friendship. Sometimes babies are diagnosed from a visual exam only. Many of us here have had x-rays and/or a CT scan to make sure the sutures are not fused. If the sutures are fused then the condition is referred to as craniosynostosis and this condition usually requires surgery. Some doctors feel fairly confident diagnosing plagiocephaly from a visual exam, but if you have any concerns or questions you could ask for an appointment to see the actual doctor and perhaps request a CT scan. My daughter wore a locally made helmet for 5+ months and we saw great improvement during that time. Your dr may be pushing you to get started since your daughter is at the optimal age to begin treatment. How severe is the plagio? Does she have facial assymetry or misaligned ears? had all of these along with flattening on the left side so treatment was something we most definately wanted. We had to really bug our ped about it to get a referral and then it took 2 months to get the diagnosis, CT scan, helmet mold and finally the helmet fitting!! She was 9 months when she began. Please feel free to ask any and all questions you may have. We are here to help and to lend support!! I think there are even some people in the group from your area and possibly using the same doctor you are! Hopefully they will respond to your post! Best of luck and let us know how the fitting goes!! Marci (Mom to - helmet grad) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Hello. I have just joined this group. Yesterday I was informed, after an ultrasound, that I have a large gallstone in my gallbladder. I was told it is 2.3 cm. The doctor of course, told me the only treatment is removal of the gallbladder. I had been having some pretty severe symptoms off and on for the previous 10-12 days (I am asymptomatic, no pain involved in attacks, but have been having them intermittently, for many years. I thought they were due to a yeast overgrowth). I am blessed to have the assistance of a good herbalist who uses Dr. Schulze's methods. Last Monday she had me do a flush, using 8 oz. of olive oil and 8 oz. of lemon juice. The next day I did, once, pass some small pea-sized, light green " stones " that were soft and easily squished. I have read some opinions that these are merely congealed olive oil, but I'm not sure what they were. I did not pass anything that appeared hard. On Friday my ultrasound showed one large, moveable stone. I was not told of any others, but I have read that smaller ones sometimes cannot be seen. The day before the ultrasound, I did a " liver dump " and felt much better afterwards. I am now back on Dr. Schulze's liver cleanse. I plan to contact the herbalist I work with on Monday to get her suggestions. I would like to do another flush, but I'm not sure when to try. I also plan to order and use some of the Gold Goin Grass that supposedly helps to disintegrate stones. Has anyone passed a stone this large? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do next, beyond what I am already doing? I have no intentions of having the surgery, though I am a bit concerned that the stone could become lodged in a duct or something and I would find myself in some sort of emergency surgery situation. Thank you, Colleen
