Hope some of you will be helped by this article from Fresh Plaza News.  It is

said that Broccolli sprouts have higher sulforaphane content than  the

broccolli heads. I hope it works for all tumors and not just pancreatic tumor.

=============

Broccoli instrumental in fight against tumour cells

Sulforaphane combats aggressive pancreatic cancer

According to a study conducted by the University of Heidelberg and the German

Cancer Research Centre, sulforaphane – the active agent found in broccoli –

helps fight treatment-resistant tumour-initiating cells that play a central role

in the pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer.

There is evidence that not even the newest anti-cancer drugs can restrain this

type of cancer, because the pancreas develops particularly large, aggressive

tumour cells that are resistant to treatment, due to a special safeguard

mechanism that they have.

However, researchers have found that sulforaphane in broccoli and other

vegetables such as cauliflower and Brussels sprouts can paralyse this mechanism.

(Brassica family of vegetables including cabbage, bokchoy, etc.- )

Following experiments with cell cultures and mice, the study showed that

sulforaphane inhibits blood vessel formation in tumours and tumour growth,

without causing side effects.

Therefore, the consumption of broccoli and other brassicas in combination with

anti-cancer drugs is seen as a promising strategy for fighting pancreatic cancer

more effectively.
