Hi Jolene,

Sounds like your liver difinitely needs your help :) All the links at the

bottom of this and every post to this list are very helpful for liver health

(which is inseperably linked to gallbadder health). You may want to start

with Dr. Cabot, since she identifies how to support the liver daily,

and shows the weight gain/liver health relationship.

The actual liver flush I like is Dr Hulda 's, and it can be found at

the links below also. You will need more than flushes to really get your

liver in top health, but the flush is a good way to start and it will take

you a long way in that direction in a short time :) All the info is there.

Newly diagnosed w/liver problems-- please help

>I have been having lab results with extremely high liver enzyme

I usually take a liver support supplement, either just milk thistle with

sylmarin extract or sometimes a formula such as trader joes or liverite

which is a little more expensive. Last year a friend of mine tested high for

liver enzymes and was refused a commercial loan pending another test.He took

milk thysilin for six weeks and re-tested and his liver enzymes tested

normal. and here is something that I am going to try in the near future

chickweed! here is an exerp from the dec. newsletter of herbs first

regarding the liver.

herbs first newsletter

Another unusual use attributed to Chickweed is the transmission and flow of

blood to the liver and hepatic veins, making them more pliable and better

eliminative organs (Hut:88). For an inflamed or ruptured appendix, give a

cold, small enema of the tea (or the decoction, for a more effective

remedy). At the same time, drink the warm infusion and apply very hot

fomentations of the decoction over the site of the appendix.

Chickweed can benefit the whole system, as it soothes and cleanses and paves

the way for healing of toxicity-related problems, such as impotency, poor

circulation, psoriasis, lung inflammation and so on. It is particularly

noted for being an effective weight loss herb; some smilingly say that any

good green herb, if used generously in the diet, is good for reducing (Lev:

165), but others say that it really does remove excess fat, because it is

mildly diuretic and laxative. We also think that because it supplies

necessary nutrients that the obese person might be lacking; the body then

releases the fat which the body has tenaciously held, thinking that it is

still hungry and in need of the missing nutrients. At any rate, both in

legend and in current herbal practice, Chickweed is considered an excellent

weight loss remedy.

Also have you had your thyroid checked??You can check out a questionair at

abouthyroid.com theres plenty of info there about the inability to loose

weight. I'm pretty sure that is how it is listed.

And a liver flush may be helpful as well.

Jolene,

If you want to lose weight you have to change your diet.

Please have a look at http://homodiet.netfirms.com

On that diet you will get rid the problem with your liver as well.

I have been having lab results with extremely high liver enzyme

values which are not coming down, even though I have been off of

Zocor for 3 months. I have taken a LOT of meds over the past 5

years for Bipolar disorder, all except one of which I have been able

to stop taking. My fear is that all these meds have damaged my

liver, thus causing the high enzyme values. Gallstones have been

ruled out through ultrasound, and hepatitis has been ruled out as

well. I walk/hike with my dog for an hour a day, and I still can't

lose weight either. I have a lot of PMS symptoms and my weight has

been gained around my middle/upper body ( " apple " ). When I was

younger (I'm only in my early 30's now) I was very thin and athletic

and never had to worry about trying to diet, I just stayed naturally

balanced through eating right and moderate exercise. Now, nothing

seems to work. I am wondering if liver cleansing could help me. If

so, where do I start? Any help anyone could offer would be greatly

appreciated!!

my weight has been gained around my middle/upper body ( " apple " ). When I was

younger (I'm only in my early 30's now) I was very thin and athletic

and never had to worry about trying to diet, I just stayed naturally

balanced through eating right and moderate exercise. Now, nothing

seems to work. I am wondering if liver cleansing could help me. If
