I will never use progesterone cream again. ...I am with you on that...I gained weight as well and because I started the coconut oil and prog cream at the same time...I blamed both....but have since stopped both...and will add back the coconut oil....but not the prog cream...it makes me gain weight and feel awful....Beth in Idaho
Guest guest
Jackie, as a guess I'd think you'd be tapering off the progesterone, but since it's really a precursor it might not matter if you don't; it should be made (or not) into hormones if a need exists. Don't expect a fast change with SomaLife gHP because it takes awhile for organs and glands to heal and improve in size and function. Energy should improve as you detoxify, and part of that could be liver flushing and part should be antioxidants, undenatured whey and selenium; The glutathione produced by whey and selenium is crucial to energy production. The thyroid may improve as you reduce toxin load. The other thing is to not eat carbs until noon, to preserve a slightly higher level of HGH for the morning, and not eat carbs right before bed, as the SomaLife gHP will be jacking up HGH release and you don't want to force that action to shut down with carbs, defeating the SomaLife. Guest guest
Bless you for your good wishes (for sleep) for me and your suggestions. I know what you mean about the effects of no sleep. I get absolutely nothing done and feel even more unfocused. I've got Burbur for detox. But, I've been lax about keeping up with the other detoxifiers. Guest guest
I wouldn't give any thyroid medicine unless you actually had the thyroid function tested. For thyroid support, there are several supplements you can buy at a health food store or vitamin store like Super Supplements. Same for adrenal. Search on or google about either and find lots of info. Guest guest
You can ordre adrenal cortex from ihberb.com or Vitacost. It is made by Allergy Research Group. You cannot get Armour without a prescription in the US. Also, you should never give this without proper blood labs to verify he needs it. It can cause some big problems if you give it to someone and they don't need it. -- In , " ngozi_cathy " <ngozi_cathy@...> wrote: > > hello everyone, > i'm treating my son's mercury poisoning on my own as there aren't too many doctors who can treat it properly. i came to the US on a visit and i'm not resident here. please can anyone tell me where to get adrenal cortex extract and dessicated/armour thyroid without a prescription? i would be grateful- i just bought andy's book and my son hair test show adrenal and thyroid issues. i'm soory if the question has been asked before but i do need help > catherine >
Guest guest
Hi , If you're in the US, you can try calling a nearby Vitamin Shoppe since they carry it: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/index.jsp?_requestid=294967 In my experience, they seem to stock it centrally for online orders but local stores may not carry it, so call before going if that's the only thing you want from them. If you can order online, iherb has the best prices that I've found: www.iherb.com For Armour, I'll send you a private message with a supplier that I know of. Where do you live? Guest guest
Interesting, I know that Adam said that he was tested and his testosterone levels were low as well. The Endocrinologist could not find a reason why that was. I also have low testosterone, and had to take hormone shots when I was younger. You might be onto something here. I have thought before that maybe a person should take a growth hormone releaser and see if that would help this problem. I do know of a lady who claims that it does help...but she sells stuff, so have to take her claims with a grain of salt. > > I have spoken to many people who have this and it seems that these " things " prefer women over men.But the men that do get this all seem to be older for the most part. Guest guest
, Sorry to be slow in answering you...I'm on digest and it takes a day or two. My sleep is better than what it was. I still use melatonin and 5 HTP also helps with sleep and anxiety. I discovered that the 5 HTP was helping when I ran out of it. I'm still *dreaming* of a good 8 hours of uninterrupted and satisfying sleep. I was using liposomal glutathione, but it's really expensive. Oral is not as effective. I use whey and selenium, which is supposed to get levels up. It sounds like you're tolerating the andrographis better than I did. My stomach was a wreck from the start. I had a recent doctor appointment (with a new dr.) and he said the extreme sensitivity I have can be related to low adrenals and thyroid. Good luck with everything! > , > > My sleep and brain have been off the last week or so and was thinking of our > last conversations. > > Is your detoxing and sleep getting any better? Guest guest
Hi. I went to the doctor this week, and had some blood work done. My thryoid came back low. I haven't had the saliva test done yet for the female hormones, but I expect that my progesterone is on the low side. Right now I started Maca root to try and help that. Does anyone else with seizures have low thyroid? What are you doing for it? Thanks. Love, jnanda
Guest guest
Hi Jnanda: my mother had seizures when her thyroid was high.. they radiated it and... guess what ....seizures gone! I experimented with maca before menopause, at first it made me feel better but later it messed up my periods... it scared me and I left it. I have to admit, I did not know what I was doing. Please let me know how it works out for you. I do the bioidenticals, but I wish I did not need them. I don't like to be dependent on dr's and I would rather go with plants. Have you read the book by Dr. Lee, what your doctor never told you about premenopause? He recommends some creams that are made with mexican yam.. There are many on the market but only a few are supposed to really be good. Learn to read the labels. He explains why some are not good for you and all that progesterone can do to help your body work better. You can get them at the health food store, in case the maca makes your head more irritable. Hopefully it doesn't. Remember, when you go through menopause, you are going to have changes, It can make your seizures worst or it can make them go away! Jnanda, I am sorry if I am talking to you like you don't know anything, I am sure you know a ton of stuff that I wish I would know. I am just trying to give you what I have learned through 3 years of trials and tribulations with menopause and this seizure crisis. I hope some of it is new and it helps you, Good Luck, ________________________________ From: jnanda <jnanda@...> Sent: Thursday, May 28, 2009 8:32:46 PM Subject: [ ] Re:hormones Hi. We had one member, about 22 years old, who had never had a period, and after about 6 months on this program her periods started. She was elated since she thought she could never have children. Guest guest
No but for years I've taken Noreth/Estrad (necon) 1/35 once daily throughout the month (no week break). My doctor originally recommended this treatment to alleiate my monthly headaches that came along with my period (not to mention my unstable emotional state during " that time " ). This treatment is only now becoming more popular (not to have a monthly period). I'm glad my doctor was so forward thinking ( is even happier...haha). If you tried this routine, you may solve what sounds like a huge issue in your life. I hope you start to feel better soon so you can get out and start enjoying life. A hormone pill/cream called Estratest? I have been experiencing horrible PMS, and probably have PMDD. I have all the symptoms. This PMS is killing me emotionally. I’ve been diagnosed with Depression (NOS) and Generalized Anxiety. So, I am currently on Hydrocodone (325mg/10mg) for my abdominal and arm pain, an antidepressant called Laxapro (20mg), Xanax (0.5mg, 3xday) for anxiety and recently began Adderral (10mg in the AM, 5mg in late afternoon) to help with my fatigue and help boost the effectiveness of the antidepressant. It has helped with my abdominal pain and lessened my anxiety and has helped to raised my energy level. The depression and crying spells are totally different than the type of depression I take meds for. I can tell that its hormone-related. I’ve been struggling with reoccurring severe depression (crying spells) each month. I feel great after I stop bleeding, but for a few days. This severe depression lasts for about 3 weeks and then it suddenly disappears and I feel like myself again, but it only lasts 4-5 days. This happens every month and coincides with my menstruation. I’ve tried YAZ, Seasonal, Depo-Provera, recently Progestin-only pills (not helpful) and Tri-Norinyl. The Tri-Norinyl used to work fine and I was on it for years. I would get this same type of depression for 1-2 days, as I stopped bleeding. After some time, I went off the pills and wanted to see if my cycle has regulated itself yet, since I was almost 30, plus I was dealing with my non-stop abdominal pain and wanted to see if the pain would get better if I was off the hormones. Once I went off it, some time went by, I was still irregular, still had the abdominal pain and when I went back on it, my PMS symptoms didn’t improve. So these pills no longer work for me. So, my new Gynie is thinking of trying a small dose of testosterone (2mg a day) to see if I feel better. My blood work shows that my testosterone level is a bit low than what a woman should have. She said women who have my type of symptoms have felt 100% better and had more energy and a increase in libido. Side effects are: it can raise my cholesterol. Rare side effects are: my voice could get deeper and I may notice a small increase in facial hair. The Estratest Pill is very hard to find, so I’m searching the net to see where I can get it from. Anyone know where I can get it? Is there any other woman here who has experienced this horrible PMS depression/crying spells??? Are there other types of hormones or meds or supplements that has been helpful to anyone? Please help me! Guest guest
Meg, Estratest has major cancer warnings all over it. See web: http://www.rxlist.com/estratest-drug.htm Estratest was supplied by a company called Solvay. In March 2009 Solvay announced that, based on a variety of business factors, it would discontinue supplying Estratest and Estratest HS tablets, and would stop accepting orders for the product on March 31, 2009. It is possible to get a generic version but demand is high and supply is low. Ask your pharmacist about the generic version. Guest guest
Meg, I used to have crying spells a while back but I do not think it was related to hormones, more like situational depression. My Drs started me on a small dose of Neurontin (Gabapentin) 200mg TID and it decreased these crying spells. I still am on this dose and no longer have these crying spells, and I believe it's helping my chronic pain also. The Drs explained to me that Neurontin is used for many things (off label), but they aren't sure of the mechanisms behind all of the uses. Just thought I'd throw this out there. I can’t endure any more of this dreadful feeling I have inside me all the time and eyes burn from crying for no reason! Email me privately, if you feel more comfortable talking about this in greater detail. HELP ME PLEASE!!! God Bless, Meg W. Guest guest
Thank you ladies for your helpful advice and for sharing your experiences with me. About the estratest pills, I found the same caution of a cancer risk when I researched it online last week. However, the pharmacist from my gynie called me today and I agreed to try the cream first. Since my testosterone level is a bit low, my new gynie and he will be starting me at just 1mg testosterone cream. The estratest pills have other hormones and some type of synthetic sodium mixture which carries the cancer risk. The cream doesn’t carry the cancer risk because its pure testosterone. And I asked him if I’ll be able to absorb it considering my experience with patches. He said since I have skinny arms due to my small muscle mass, the best place for me to rub the cream on is my wrists so that it goes into my bloodstream better. He said most women do feel much better after they go on it and he thinks I will to. He said it may not be the entire cause of my depression/fatigue, but it certainly is contributing to it. So, next is getting Medicaid to pay for it. If it doesn’t, I’ll pay because its not very expensive. However, they just need prior authorization, so I hope they will cover it. I’m praying that this cream will work and help me feel better. I’ll let you guys know what happens. Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend! God Bless, Meg W.
