Guest guest
Kimi, I used to take Neurontin for energy, but after a few years, I realized it didn’t help. I was on 300mg, 3xday. It didn’t help with my pain. But I don’t remember if I had this type of depression/crying spells while on it. Maybe I’ll start it again and see if it helps to stabilize my mood. Maybe it will help some of my pain now, since the pain is in more places. Thank you so much for reminding me of it. It totally slipped my mind. I’ll call my MDA doc to call in a Rx for it and I’ll try it again. I’ll let you know if it helps! Again, thank you! God Bless, Meg W. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Ksmile96@... Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 2:14 PM Subject: Re: HORMONES Meg, I used to have crying spells a while back but I do not think it was related to hormones, more like situational depression. My Drs started me on a small dose of Neurontin (Gabapentin) 200mg TID and it decreased these crying spells. I still am on this dose and no longer have these crying spells, and I believe it's helping my chronic pain also. The Drs explained to me that Neurontin is used for many things (off label), but they aren't sure of the mechanisms behind all of the uses. Just thought I'd throw this out there. I have been experiencing horrible PMS, and probably have PMDD. I have all the symptoms. This PMS is killing me emotionally. I’ve been diagnosed with Depression (NOS) and Generalized Anxiety. So, I am currently on Hydrocodone (325mg/10mg) for my abdominal and arm pain, an antidepressant called Laxapro (20mg), Xanax (0.5mg, 3xday) for anxiety and recently began Adderral (10mg in the AM, 5mg in late afternoon) to help with my fatigue and help boost the effectiveness of the antidepressant. It has helped with my abdominal pain and lessened my anxiety and has helped to raised my energy level. The depression and crying spells are totally different than the type of depression I take meds for. I can tell that its hormone-related. I’ve been struggling with reoccurring severe depression (crying spells) each month. I feel great after I stop bleeding, but for a few days. This severe depression lasts for about 3 weeks and then it suddenly disappears and I feel like myself again, but it only lasts 4-5 days. This happens every month and coincides with my menstruation. I’ve tried YAZ, Seasonal, Depo-Provera, recently Progestin-only pills (not helpful) and Tri-Norinyl. The Tri-Norinyl used to work fine and I was on it for years. I would get this same type of depression for 1-2 days, as I stopped bleeding. After some time, I went off the pills and wanted to see if my cycle has regulated itself yet, since I was almost 30, plus I was dealing with my non-stop abdominal pain and wanted to see if the pain would get better if I was off the hormones. Once I went off it, some time went by, I was still irregular, still had the abdominal pain and when I went back on it, my PMS symptoms didn’t improve. So these pills no longer work for me. So, my new Gynie is thinking of trying a small dose of testosterone (2mg a day) to see if I feel better. My blood work shows that my testosterone level is a bit low than what a woman should have. She said women who have my type of symptoms have felt 100% better and had more energy and a increase in libido. Side effects are: it can raise my cholesterol. Rare side effects are: my voice could get deeper and I may notice a small increase in facial hair. The Estratest Pill is very hard to find, so I’m searching the net to see where I can get it from. Anyone know where I can get it? Is there any other woman here who has experienced this horrible PMS depression/crying spells??? Are there other types of hormones or meds or supplements that has been helpful to anyone? Please help me! I can’t endure any more of this dreadful feeling I have inside me all the time and eyes burn from crying for no reason! Email me privately, if you feel more comfortable talking about this in greater detail. HELP ME PLEASE!!! God Bless, Meg W.

Guest guest
Kimi, For the record, my exact statement was: “My post regarding my PMS symptoms and monthly cycle has nothing to do with discrimination in the media. That is why I changed the Topic on the Subject line. DUH!” You can verify that if you go to the IndependentLiving group on the web and find the thread. It was posted on 5/25/2010 @ 1:32pm. I’ve always posted messages like the one you are referring to by changing the subject title, so I don’t know what happened. But I’ll do it the other way from now on. Sorry for the confusion. Guest guest
Meg and Amy, Please take your disagreement off list. This drama has nothing to do with SMA or related topics. Thank You, Kimi In a message dated 5/29/2010 1:38:07 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, meg.w@... writes: Kimi, Please do something about this. I'm tired of all the insults, threats and lies being spread about me in this group and on my Facebook page by Amy. She has done this to me on her group and I finally had to leave it. If this doesn't stop, I'm going to have to leave this group as well, and I don't want that to happen. Everyone can see that I've let this go and I am not holding any grudges nor am I editing any messages. I have everything documented that will prove my honesty. I have no reason to make up lies. I have better things to do with my time. As for the constant phone calls I'm accussed of making, phone records can be checked to prove my innocence. This has gone far enough. I've been silent. I'm not the one holding the grudge, and that is plainly evident by Amy's continuing to post insults and lies about me. I hope everyone can see the truth. Guest guest
Kimi, Please do something about this. Guest guest
Thank you, Kimi. I noticed this sniping started because one person didn't like how the other was posting under the subject line of another topic. Guest guest
Good morning, This question was posed in another group, and I wondered if any one has the answer. If you take two similar groups of women and give half of them bioidentical hormones and the other half no hormones at all (neither synthetic nor bioidentical ones), what will be the percentage of women in each group that will contract breast cancer? Does anyone know the answer? Thank you. Sally
Guest guest
maybe some women have too much estrogens because they live in polluted environment (plastics etc.) or because they have too much fat, even if they do no take synthetic or bioidentical hormones.. karla > > > > Good morning, > > This question was posed in another group, and I wondered if any > one has the answer. > > If you take two similar groups of women and give half of them > bioidentical hormones and the other half no hormones at all (neither synthetic > nor bioidentical ones), what will be the percentage of women in each group > that will contract breast cancer? > > Does anyone know the answer? > > Thank you. > > Sally > > > >
