Guest guest
I can't wait to hear about the experience of your patient in China. I think you wrote about some of the work you were doing with them to get the patient all the proper care, didn't you? My husband and I are getting ready to retire early, and very much wanting to have a high-deductible HSA medical plan. I've discovered that the premiums for us ($5,000 - $7,000 deductible) would be around $500/month, and would take care of our needs for coverage in the event of a catastrophic accident.  Because we tend not to use pharmaceuticals and mammograms and the stuff that our BCBS union policy covers, we pretty much self-insure for the stuff we do use. But the interesting thing I've learned about those HSAs is that, I think for all of them, but at least the ones I've been talking with, you can spend your deductible on health care anywhere in the world - and it covers a lot of things that right now our BCBS plan won't pay for. Of course, if Obamacare passes, page 16 of the current House Bill pretty much takes away the HSA option immediately, and will probably end private insurance options within ten years..... ;-(  " Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself. " Faulkner
