Guest guest
Actually, no, I don't have much money for the doctors. I did have an ultrasound done on my thyroid and the doctor says it appears to be a cyst. She said that it is almost not likely cancer now, but she wouldn't say that they were 100 percent positive it wasn't. I do have a lot of pressure in my throat near my thyroid... but it's also enlarged like Hoshimotos. I have so much dryness though... but I've been doing some reading and have found that rosacea can cause awful dryness not only to the skin, but to the throat, mouth and eyes. A friend of mine went to a doctor at U of M and he instructed him to wash his eyes out with 's Baby Shampoo three times per day, rinse thoroughly and place a warm damp washcloth over his eyes for three to five minutes following. He says it is making a huge difference. I'm going to give it a try. He is also taking this other drug... and has a topical creme he swears by. The creme has sulfur in it, I believe, and the internal drug starts with Dexi... something like that. I will be talking to him on Wednesday to find out because I'm requesting those when I go back to the doctor. What is thermography? Is it like an ultrasound? I just had my levels taken a month ago. They were great, according to the doctor. Free T4 was 1.01, and TSH was 5.03. If that means anything. Not sure of it myself. My iron was horrendously low. Iron was 17 (normal range 33-150), and iron binding capacity was high:448 (220-440_, and TSAT Transferrin saturation was really, really low: 3.8 normal range is 20.0-50.0 I don't know. It just feels like I have this lump in my throat all the time. I normally don't feel it as much as I am right now... but for the past four days or so it's really been noticeble, so maybe I'm coming down with something. I'm just sick of being so tired, so sore, and so dry. I've heard that hoshimotos can make you very dry in the throat and mouth. My aunt has it and complains about it all the time... though not to the extent that I do. Yeah, I've been cleaning up my diet. I'll be getting a juicer soon and I've been working on cutting out all meat and switching to a totally vegetarian diet. I use to be vegetarian, I guess I should have stayed that way. Well, thanks for the info and any other info that can be passed this way. > > > > Hi. I am 42 years old and I have been going to U of M for years now with various health problems. This past week I was told I have a nodule in my thyroid and that it is most likely not cancer, but that they couldn't rule out that it might be. I have lousy insurance and have to go to designated doctors. I thought U of M would be great. They have proved to be otherwise. > > > > They have opted out of doing anything. They won't even preform a needlepoint aspiration biopsy to check the nodule. They say it's probably not needed. The nodule is over a centimeter round and they told me it's standard to aspirate something that big in the thyroid, but they won't do it. So, I'm wondering, do I jump on the Gerson's diet for this? > > > > I have other health issues. I cough from the dryness as well and sometimes wake up in the night having trouble inhaling due to severe throat and lung dryness. I thought I may have Sjogren's Syndrome, but U of M says I don't. They also will not run a simple test to find out if I have Hoshimotos Thyroiditis. > > > > I also have been told that I have Fibromyalgia and I have a positive ANA level, and I also have cea. > > > > Can anyone recommend anything to me? > > > > Thank you, > > > > >
Guest guest
T7, TOTAL T3, TOTAL T4, UPTAKE, or any other thyroid labs: useless. Do some research on the site below. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/lab-values/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/tsh-why-its-useless/ http://www.oasisadvancedwellness.com/learning/thyroid-health-articles.html (articles about thryoid health and iodine) Please don't put baby shampoo in your eyes, it's full of chemicals. Find out what is actually causing your dry eyes. Be Well Dr.L -----Original Message----- Actually, no, I don't have much money for the doctors. Guest guest
Hi , A TSH over 3 indicates you are hypo. Sorry, your lab and doctor are not up on the " new " guidelines - which changed years ago, but everyone is ignoring them. I can't comment on the Free T4 without the lab values. You may need a small increase in your meds. That will probably take care of a lot of the problem. Ask your doctor if he will allow you take an extra pill every week. Or, twice a week. I'm trying to remember how I did it...was it a half pill every other day? It's been awhile, I can't remember. Anyway, you need a small increase. Google " thermogram " and " thermography " on more information. > > > > > > Hi. I am 42 years old and I have been going to U of M for years now with various health problems. Guest guest
Thank you for the information. This should be helpful once I switch doctors. The doctor at U of M that I see is totally awful and I had to fight to get the ultrasound of my thyroid to find out that there was something inside it. I also had to fight to get an ultrasound of my uterus because I was having so many problems, and she flatly refuses to run blood tests I know I need that another doctor insisted that I get, but my insurance wouldn't cover it through their office. I have had a really bad round of problems with U of M. They won't even give me an MRI to find out why I get so much nerve pain and headaches... oh, I could go on. Thanks, > > > > > > > > Hi. Guest guest
I'm not so certain about iodine treatment. I've read so much about the toxicity of iodine and people having problems with it. I am interested in researching it more and I'm interested in finding out about the home thyroid tests, though. > > T7, TOTAL T3, TOTAL T4, UPTAKE, or any other thyroid labs: useless.
