I'm a true believer in the health benefits of raw garlic. It has cleared up

a fingernail fungus that I had for 20-something years. Also, my blood

pressure was borderline, but after going on raw garlic in my fresh

carrot/apple/celery juice, my blood pressure returned to normal. It's

terribly wonderful stuff! If you ever get and read Dr. Cabot's book

entitled " The Healthy Liver & Bowel Book, " she has a section in there about

how good garlic is for the gut and kills many parasites. It's a wonderful

natural antibiotic. I'm convinced that it helped keep me from going to the

doctor in the winter when I had a bad respiratory infection, along with

hissop (oregano). Garlic is a very potent decongestant, too!

Now, I'm sure that you may have this website link, but look up at Dr.

Mercola's website and read the various articles about garlic. Here is the

Let me explain what happened. About 28 or so years ago, I slammed the car

door on my left thumbnail. It never fell off, but actually it should have.

After it healed, if you want to call it healing, it had ripples all through

it, really gross looking and would never grow. Then it started turning a

ugly yellow and greenish color. Nothing that I did helped it. About 10

years ago when I was at the doctor's office for something else, I showed him

my nail and asked what could I do. He looked at it and said that the nailbed

was totally ruined and the only thing to do would be remove the nail and let

it grow back, but he also said that he doubted that it would look better --

EVER! It was so gross looking, I just normally tried to hide it from people.

Anyway, when I started Dr. Cabot's liver cleansing diet, I started drinking

carrot/celery/apple juice every morning and this went on for several months,

then I started adding 2 to 3 large garlic cloves in the juicer along with it.

I try to buy that garlic that has light-purplish colored skins, which is

much more potent and better. Can't find it all year long, though. Well,

about one month later, I was sitting in the car pointing out something to my

husband and he said: Your thumbnail, it's getting well, look at it.

He was just freaking out, couldn't believe it, nor could I. He had never

seen it well before. All that stuff was almost grown off of it and the

ripples were gone, the nailbed normal looking. So I figured out that it was

the garlic since it kills many kinds of fungi, but I never expected something

this quick and never expected it. Also, at that time, I was trying to add

more garlic per day because Dr. Cabot says that 4 to 6 cloves per day will

kill your parasites in several weeks, or many parasites, if you have them.

Another thing, after I first started the garlic and within days, I passed a

bunch of white, net-looking stuff in my bowel movement that I assume was

yeast. It kills that stuff.

Since that time I try to eat some raw garlic every day, either juiced or

pressed in a salad dressing or salad. Pressing your raw garlic is what

releases that stuff in it that's so good. I think it's called allicin or

something like that. But you have to ingest it within 20 minutes after

pressing. That's so you can get the ultimate effect of the allicin.

It's best to mix it in something, either fresh juice or salads so it won't

irritate your stomach lining. When I'm sick with a cold, I drink hot green

tea and after it sets a few minutes and cools a little, I press several

garlic cloves into it. Yes, you do stink, but it's a heck of a decongestant

and a wonderful antibiotic--with no side effects either!!
