Guest guest
Friend of mine also had a complete removal, with all the typical side effects. Several years later his PSA was rising (PSA is a worthless test btw), and the MDs also wanted to put him on radiation. Where Is IT he asked? Don't know, they said, maybe it went into the bones, but we need to treat it. His wife put him on a vegetarian diet, PSA dropped to essentially nothing and has stayed there. Guest guest
I should have a .05 PSA............or even a .4. Instead my PSA averages 7 and has gone from 7 all the way to 10 and back again. It is my understanding that one should look for a steady increase in PSA readings before being concerned. In other words if the next result was higher, and after that higher again, then it is time to re-think what might be going on. What rise might be important? I don't know. Is the process different after 'Radical Surgery'? I really don't know that at all. Have you thought of going to another Urologist for another opinion? The field is really 'all over the map'. I see different approaches to Prostate and Bladder Cancer issues and wonder, who decides what is best? Like a professor/surgeon advised my wife, " at some point it is all opinion " and that has stuck in my mind. I don't think anyone can answer your question without it being an opinion and most of ours will not be from experience but rather beliefs based upon our own prejudices or the persuasiveness of our mentors.. Joe C. I'll be back this evening to see what I can learn from the list. Bye for now.
