Guest guest
Was at the doctor earlier this week, and she told me my Vit D level was 44. She said they like it to be above 30. I recently started taking a Vit D supplement. Is my level considered normal? I've been taking 2500 mill??? (however it is measured, can't remember) per day, does that sound reasonable? Thanks in advance! Cyndi in CA
Guest guest
You want your vitamin D level to be at least 50. Which lab analyzed your sample? If it was Quest Diagnostics then you will need do divide your results by 1.3 to get a true reading and the level should be at least 65. The reason is that Quest has not calibrated their instruments according to DiaSorin RIA, which is the lab that the vitamin D studies are based upon. LabCorp and ZRT results are calibrated with DiaSorin RIA.
Guest guest
That's a good question.....I don't think it was Quest, but I forgot to ask which lab it was for certain. Thanks for the info, Cyndi You wrote: You want your vitamin D level to be at least 50. Which lab analyzed your sample?
