Guest guest
Thank you for a very thorough and 'tell it like it is' tale of what the Cancer Industry and I'll add, every phase of medicine is all about. Personal stories are valuable because they make on think and yes, you point out that not everyone fits in the cookie-cutter ideal. I've told this before, however new visitors need to hear our stories because, " Information is your best friend " and thank you also for reminding people to research. Back in 1952........(there's that old-timer again) I was advised by a Veteran's Administration doctor that, " You have had your life's share of X-Rays " . Imagine how many more I've had over the years even though I've tried to limit them. How many times has your dentists said, " oh it's no more than walking down the street " ? They did not mention X-Rays are cumulative and then there are Microwaves we encounter all the time. Some things we cannot avoid and we must live in this world and get exposed to things harmful over which we have no control. My 'last' scan, taken because a lowly Urine Cytology, one of the most error-prone type, showed evidence of bladder Cancer Cells. A cystoscope exam did not nor did a CT-Scan. I accepted the CT-Scan as evidence the Cytology was wrong and on my next Cystoscope exam, three months later...............there it was.........small, but there..........a cancerous tumor. So much for scans but just more added to the X-Rays I was told to avoid more than 50 years ago and by whom? Some kook?.......no, a Radiologist. I'd wager, and probably win, that this guy is long-since dead because he told me this after he did a Fluoroscopy and for those not remembering what they were like, the Radiologist stood behind a screen, wearing heavy gloves, with the X-Ray machine behind me, and he would manipulate my innards while observing the screen. This guy was directly in front of the screen which was catching the rays. Yikes! Yes, I am a bit touchy about radiation and Dr. Loretta's story and her information is supported by many researchers and the words by those Australian Oncologists, " we have to find a better way because this isn't working " , stands out and is emblazoned in my brain.............atrophied as it is.
