Guest guest
Hi all! I've just been diagnosed with multiple small stones. My doctor says it us up to me whether or not to have surgery (making it sound like a walk in the park to have my gallbladder removed!!) Right now she says to take a " wait and see " attitude and just stick to a low fat diet. Also to eliminate my food triggers (allergies!)I guess that makes sense. I've read a little on the internet about the " flush " and I've gotta tell ya, it sounds gross. Do I actually have to DRINK olive oil? Or can I just watch my diet like the doctor says. Dr. Hoffman believes that eliminating certain foods can make you feel better and nowhere does he recommend this flush. So you see, I'm a little on sensory overload right now. I definitely DO NOT want surgery! In fact I work with a girl who had it done, and she STILL has pain in her stomach and back. So, you can see my hesitancy. Any feedback will be appreciated. I think I most would like to hear from those who are just adhering (successfully) to a lowfat diet. thanks to all and Merry Christmas! Guest guest
Hi Janice, The flush handles the drinking olive oil problem fairly well and it's well worth the effort when you see your gall stones going down the toilet without surgery. Then, after the flush, you often feel better than you have in years for a few days or weeks, when it's time to do another flush and repeat until you stop getting gallstones. Dr. Hulda in her flush mixes grapefruit juice with the oil and it completely mixes together. Grapfruit juice is the only citrus that mixes this way. A little peppermint oil in the mixture will help make it more palatable if necessary. I never need the peppermint oil. A straw to drink the mixture is also helpful. Diet definitely can help your gallstone problem, but a flush will make by far the most progress in a hurry. The real problem you'll have to overcome is coming to the realization that your doctor doesn't after all know what the best diet for you is. He doesn't know how to keep you helthy without drugs and surgery, because exptremely small amounts of time is given to this topic in medical school. The diet you need to be on includes a lot of GOOD fats and the elimination of bad fats. You can find out about it from Dr. Cabot, a doctor who has learned much more than they taught her at medical school, at: http://www.liverdoctor.com/ You've come to the right place to save your gall bladder, Janice. All the links at the bottom of this and every post to this list will help you with information toward that end Vince >From: " Janice <bookworm4u2@...> " <bookworm4u2@...> >Reply-gallstones >gallstones >Subject: I'm new here and just diagnosed with multiple small >stones >Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 05:29:11 -0000 > >Hi all! >I've just been diagnosed with multiple small stones.
