Guest guest
Just taking the turmeric does not suggest needing liver monitoring. Mike Bag wrote: > > Thanks Dr. Mike and Joe C for explanation. Guest guest
I would suggest cooking the turmeric before ingesting it. It works much better. My teacher suggested cooking it for 8 minutes before using it to make a paste and then refrigerate what you do not use. If you Google something like " UCLA, tumeric, study " you will see the result of the study and the effectiveness of cooking it first. GB > > Thanks Dr. Mike and Joe C for explanation. Guest guest
What do you mean by " cooking " the turmeric? Do you boil it in water? About how much water and powder? Or do you mix it with an oil in a slow frying pan? Please explain how you would cook the turmeric for 8 minutes? Also, does anyone know in what form one might use turmeric/curcumin as a gargle? My son has a continuous throat sore that won't respond to anything and the doctors don't know the cause of it. Marji **************Need a job? Find employment help in your area. Guest guest
Curcumin is an extract from curcuma longa (the roots powder), the spice. Curcumin is only 3 to 5% of the powder and moreover is lipophilic compound, meaning water extract is not worth. If you are interested in healing power of curcumin, take a certified extract like 95% curcuminoids and with piperine which enhance the assimilation. With the curcuman powder, you 'll have to take grams by day, which 'll not be convenient.... Look at www.curador.net and product, curacurmine. ----------------- [Moderator's comment: Curcumin is part of the common spice called turmeric. Turmeric can be found in most grocery stores. Guest guest
Marji You may cook it in water or oil. Usually Indians use turmeric as part of a masala by sauteing things like onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric and spices in oil. Another way is in a recipe that is an Ayurvedic recipe for the joints. The turmeric part can be used in other things also and it would be better than using plain powder. Another possibility maybe using turmeric root itself. Using this maybe different and you may not need to cook it. To make a paste, use about 1 tsp. turmeric with 1 cup water, cook for 8 minutes at fairly high temp. and make a paste. Here is a recipe for Golden Milk. http://spiritvoyage.net/2008/11/04/recipe-of-the-week-golden-milk/ GB > > What do you mean by " cooking " the turmeric? Do you boil it in water? Guest guest
Marji Get hold of a good colloidal silver and make him gargle with it. Colloidal Silver kills almost all bacteria, viruses, microbes, fungi, etc.
