Guest guest
O.K. Jim, You've outdone yourself here. Now you've got ME looking at the benefits of whey protein. You're quite the researcher. Here are some good sources for Wild Salmon fish oil, which I think is the best to use for the Budwig protocol. Salmon oil has the carotene in it, which gives salmon the pink color. It also is loaded with EPA/DHA. Thank you for continuing to dig for answers. You are a true scientist---truth-seeking is the bottom line for a good scientist. You have taught us something new that may benefit many folks, even an ole skeptic like me. I shouldn't have sent back the huge package of whey protein from Ori Hofmekler's outfit. Cheers,
Guest guest
Thanks for the kudos, , but in reality all I did was type " whey " and " cancer " into Google, and I think everything I posted here was off the first page of search results. However, I did search back several pages looking for articles negative on whey, and couldn't find any. Now, to address some fears. Whey is extremely high in protein -- higher than any other food, period! What would Kelley have to say about this? In my opinion, this does mean that whey should be used in moderation - - perhaps 1 serving a day (25 - 30 grams). I imagine it would also be good to load up on extra pancreatin when taking that big protein load. And, according to Kelley, take it before 1:00 pm. However, it is also true that whey is the easiest of all proteins to digest. Now, if the " fit for life " people are correct, and one should eat nothing but juices and/or fruit before noon, this leaves about a 1 hour window to take the whey. Per the concerns that whey is dairy. If you read my posts, one of them said that undenatured cold microfiltered whey isolate has virtually all dairy-specific elements removed. What you are left with is common across the entire mammal line. In other words, whey isolate may be a lot closer to mother's milk than to dairy milk. What I have been doing, which may make JB roll over in her grave and SO to roll over her mod keyboard, is to replace some of the CC in the Budwig mix with undenatured cold microfiltered whey isolate. The whey is much higher in the sulphur containing amino acids than CC is. However, it doesn't create a thick enough emulsion itself to blend with FO, therefore I mix the whey in with CC and perhaps a little yogurt to get the thickness needed. Interestingly, the NOW brand of whey isolate recommends making smoothies that have whey isolate and flaxseed oil in them. (Says this on the side of the container). There is an added benefit here that if you get a yummy tasting whey powder, say chocolate or vanilla, then the previously horrible tasting Budwig mix ends up tasting like pudding! It becomes very palatable. Now, there is yet a third angle to this whole thing. The " Rath " mix of vitamins, which claims to stop angiogenesis of tumors, consists of vitamin C, proline, lycine, and green tea extract. Well, whey is loaded with proline and lycine, so I add some C and some green tea extract in capsules to try to get that effect too. I don't swallow too much C -- maybe a gram -- because this can interfere with Budwig. Maybe 1 gram is too much. I don't know. It is also true that the proline and lycine will hang around the system a long time, so maybe the C and green tea can be taken later. Now, what I am proposing / doing here may be nuts. It looks really promising in theory, but as with all alternative methods, who knows if it is really better than the original Budwig mix? I know what the Budwigeans will say -- why mess with a proven method? They think THAT is nuts. And maybe it is. I guess the only way one could tell would be to track tumor markers over time with straight Budwig versus Budwig / whey. > > O.K. Jim, > > You've outdone yourself here. Guest guest
Is there a whey protein that does not contain SOY lecithin, or any form of soy? Soy now is painted as really " evil " . Also no sugar undenatured whey protein?
Guest guest
Thanks Arlene, I'll check into that.
Guest guest
Dr. Mike Thank you so much. Now i can buy from our local wholefoods. I kept reading and everytime i saw soy lecithin, i would return it to the shelf. I found a good one with 27 g protein per scoop and also uses stevia, didn't buy it due to soy lecithin. I shall go back and buy it now..
