Guest guest
Jan, I receive the group's posts in my personal email. It shows each individual's email address at the top of their post. How are you receiving the posts? ar On Sun, 10 Aug 2008 14:59:23 -0700, " Jan " <jtaylor@...> said: > I " m sorry, I don't seem to know how to get email addresses so I can write > off list. Guest guest
HI Arlyn, Mine doesn't show addresses at the top. It never has. I've gone to the group site to try to get them but people have them marked as private. I receive my email individually as personal emails like you. Guest guest
I took a look at the group settings and see this: Group Settings Members cannot hide email address I don't know what this means but I am a member of other boards where the email address is hidden when emails come through and personally I think this is better. Anyone who wants to get in touch with another member can simply post a reply to them and use the " to " drop down to change the default from the group email to the author of the message they're replying to (where email address is still hidden.) This seems better for security purposes. I wonder if the moderator knows anything further about hiding email addresses from everyone. > > HI Arlyn, > > Mine doesn't show addresses at the top. Guest guest
Hello Jan, I notice that I have the option to send a response to the author when I am on digest. Also, if you reply through the website, you may be given that choice. ar -- Arlyn Grant arlynsg@...
Guest guest
All one need do is use 'Properties' and e-mail addresses are revealed. It's not a security issue since it is not a home address or phone number. Joe C.

Guest guest
Internet and email privacy and security are HUGE issues! Free access to ones email opens one up to all sorts of problems such as spamming, viruses, compromising of personal info, identity theft, fraud etc. > > All one need do is use 'Properties' and e-mail addresses are revealed. Guest guest
It may be a 'huge' issue, however people's e-mails are readily available anytime one posts to most sites. For example, I know yours right now and could know everyone else's on this list! Joe C.
