Guest guest
It always appears to me that we go to these people for their 'opinions', because that is all it is and wonder whether or not we are getting good information. It's like sitting down with an Insurance Agent and expecting them to tell you, " you don't need insurance " . Surgeons cut, Internists medicate and Chiropractors Adjust. From time to time we meet honest people such as the Professor at the University of Miami that told us, regarding my wife's back pain, " Back surgery at best is mediocre " .............and he's a leading Orthopedic surgeon. Another time regarding a serious matter he explained his position thus...... " at some point, it is all opinion " My point? Keep this in mind when speaking with professionals. It's often 'opinion' when something is not obvious such as a broken bone. Perhaps more so when seeking we list members advice. Ultimately it will be your decision (opinion). Joe C. From: NATALIE WROTE: thanks ar, it is a very good thing to look into! i did talk to my biopsy lady about it and she was very nice. she said that bumps in scar are really hard to read by thermography because scars are hotter than normal skin by nature so hard to get much info from a thermography. Maybe I should ask a second opinion from a place that preforms them. I will look into more. thanks, > > > > > > Have you explored 'Keloids'? Guest guest
Obviously it's my decision but that is why I am asking for opinions in this process. Sometimes we need to processes things by running them past people who have been through similar issues. I am not an idiot but have only had 6 months of cramming info about cancer and healingin my head. Not only am I running this processes past you good people but also talking to 3 other Dr's as they are the only people I can get opinions from. My surgeon is a ass. He took one look at me and said " that's a sarcoma, that's a sarcoma and that's probably a sarcoma " on 3 places where I am pretty sure they are not. It's his opinion which I have rejected and am seeking a new surgeon! But I do have a lump in a scar and an agressive cancer. Lots of things to think about. I don't want to make a wrong turn as it is life and death. We can only do what we can. Thanks greatly though for your 'opinion'. That's not sarcastic. natalie > > It always appears to me that we go to these people for their 'opinions', because that is all it is and wonder whether or not we are getting good information. Guest guest
Hi , That's interesting information about the scar running hot. I wonder how long you have to wait for that to no longer be the case? I've had a yearly thermogram since diagnosis and have never had my scar show up on it. It was 9 months or so after my lumpectomy that I had the first thermogram. Personally, I don't fear seeding through biopsy. I took modified citrus pectin to help keep any seeding from happening during my surgery. I would rather know for sure what I was dealing with than guess. Best of luck, ar
Guest guest
hi Joe C. I feel in some way you might be right. I use. and do holistic alternative  treatments, to treat my advanced prostrate cancer. I once had prostate bone metastasis. I ended up seeing  a naturopath. Her Advice was good, it got my psa down from 13.8, to below 4. Then my doctor sent me to a dietitians. Though  the diet she put me on was grate, it put my PSA up three points, so I went back on the diet my naturopath put me on in 2007, my PSA now below one again. So good advice is hard to fine, and who do you trust  cheers Ray . thanks ar, it is a very good thing to look into! i did talk to my biopsy lady about it and she was very nice. she said that bumps in scar are really hard to read by thermography because scars are hotter than normal skin by nature so hard to get much info from a thermography. I am a little nervous about doing that and then seeing my oncol and surgeon this week. they will freak out if i have some crazy thing coming out of my scar! Plus I am a little worried that if I have something under my rib then there might be problems. Arg! I know many of you have probably had this type of impasse before. Sorry for going on a bit. > > natalie
Guest guest
Yes, I agree--black salve. I was diagnosed with breast cancer (2002)by my doc and the black salve found three lymph nodes and neck, that my doc missed. Make sure you have pain pills on hand for a few days. I made the mistake of showing my doc my neck and she flipped out--wanted to call my son and put me in a cancer clinic. I ran out of her office and never went back to her. I now go to Mexico for follow up. Pattie > > > > > > yes, it could be scar tissue or a keloid. thanks > for pointing it out. Guest guest
Thanks for everyones opinions! I did try the black salve and decided if it started to work I would cancel my doctors appointments until I was ready to go in. Well 2 days of applying the black salve on my scar area nothing happened but a bit of redness and one little white tiny pimple thiny. I am guessing then that it may not be cancer then! I might give the salve another go and cover a bit more area as I was being quite conservative. don't worry though I won't go overboard. I may not do this at all though as I decided to work with www.americancanceradvocates.com to get at the cancer in my blood. They are devising a protocol tailered to me. I think I need a bit of proffesional help here. I am too overwhelmed with what to do. I will let you all know how it goes. Pat Mc <pjmacblondie> wrote: > > Yes, I agree--black salve.
