Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks learning as much as I can. My 41yo brother has recurrent esophageal cancer. He was originally diagnosed Oct 06 went through the big 3 and was declared in remission Nov 07. In April 08 he developed another tumor which is wrapped around his aortic nerve so radiation and surgery are out of the question, which does not upset me. He was receiving chemo but has gone through several types and has been declared as non-responsive and is currently only receiving an anti-body. He had a tumor rupture which left a gaping hole in the side of his neck. Since being off chemo, the hole has begun healing but has a long way to go. He has also developed another tumor adjacent to the first and it continues to grow and has developed ulcerated sores on the outside of his skin which seep and continue to get worse. Not trying to be too graphic, just want to make our situation clear. I have been living with him for a couple of months and he has finally agreed to aggressively pursue alternative options here at home. Not quite ready to see a doctor to help with this. So far we are trying: 1. Budwig – modified because he won't/can't eat all the foods 2. Juicing three to four times a day 3. MSM still increasing dosage 4. Started Baking Soda today – ½ tsp twice a day 5. Minimal sugar (as long as I can keep him away from milkshakes) 6. He has a feeding tube because of difficulty swallowing and his doctor will only prescribe high protein Boost rather than the low glucose we requested. So my question is, what next? I have been researching like crazy and have come up with a few things that interest me, but the information is limited or just the same thing cut and pasted all over the net. Can anyone give me their experience with 1. Paw Paw – looks like great research but doesn't seem like a lot of people have tried it 2. B17 – since he can't chew is there another way to take this without a doctor? 3. Can baking soda be used as a topical solution to help with the ulcerated sores on his neck? Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks, Teri
