Guest guest
Jane: I would strongly suggest you start researching alternative methods to get your father through the chemo. You can do iv treatments with vit c. The chemo only cures 2% of cancers, the drs do not have anything else to use. You can die of the chemo treatments, so you need to be building up your body as you go through the chemo. Read Suzanne Somers book Knockout, about drs. curing cancer and how to prevent it. You may find someone nearby to help. I am seeing Dr. in New York and would highly recommend him, but it is rigorous and only for those determined to get better. If you need his info let me know and you can search his website, you never know it may appeal to your father. Otherwise, you have to be like a scientist sifting through all of the treatments and then finding the right one. That takes a lot of patience and time, sometimes we don't have that. Also, you could look in a clinic in Mexico, but that is in an emergency, as it was for me, and when I got back I did a lot of prevention. Bill has a book Cancer Free I have it on ebook if you want to look at it. It gives a step by step approach, that might appeal to you and has some basics, supplements, diet, it may save him you never know. Keep fighting and do not give up, Lots of luck, Lois Hello, I am new to this group. Reading various posts gives me hope. Last week my father went for petscan & results showed his prostate cancer has spread to his bones. This is of great concern to us as 3 months back he had undergone radiation and region around prostate was clear. However it returned. He is going to start his chemo and knowing about its side effects and about 10-30% chances of its effect, it feels terrible. Has anyone tried alternative treatments at this stage and please can give some details. -Jane
Guest guest
Lois, Ive been on an alterative treatment of a no sugar food diet, aprecots pits, zinc and the pineapple enzyme since 2008. back than I found I had prostrate bone mets. its in my ribs and my lower back. my doctors said they were out of opinions on how to treat me as they said chemo is not too good on Adinocarinoma in bone, as the bone has a low blood supply and the amount of radiation they have to use to kill the cancer in my bones would kill me too. when I went on this it took a while but it work. Im now free of the sharp cancer pain. I had in 2008. Ray

I too shall look into Dr. 's website for more details. As you mentioned ,its true chemo is going to deteriorate body immune conditions as the doctor also mentioned to my father. Guest guest
Jane: I will work on getting the ebook for you. It is not on this computer so will need to send it from another one in the house when I get there. Some integrative doctors, we have one in Boston, do ivs with vit c for cancer patients on chemo and it helps them. The nurse told me that sometimes it heals them. Hang in there, Lois

Guest guest
Leonard, or anyone else, Do you have opinion on the Valley Cancer Institute down in LA for their Hyperthermia treatment? They take insurance but its $500 a day for a 1.5 hour treatment and they are talking 3 months- 5 days a week. I'm still a stage IV PC with pain now in my hips and shoulders and lower back. PSA 364 and climbing from 15.6 last April 5, 2010. Blessings, son
Guest guest
that's 30 000 USD. For that kind of money, or less, I would fly to the St Klinik in Germany which has aquired quite a reputation as a specialist in hyperthermia PS this group is not specific for PCa. There are others where you can contact hundreds of PCa survivors > > Leonard, or anyone else, > > Do you have opinion on the Valley Cancer Institute down in LA for their > Hyperthermia treatment?
