Guest guest
Hi, Barbara. I really don't know. People say to do " breathing exercises. " But breathing is, in the end, an unconscious thing, so how does one get to the point where, when one is not consciously doing the exercises, one is still breathing deeply and slowly? There doesn't appear to be any easy answer. I wish there was. Best wishes, Elliot
Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I have noticed that my rate of breathing increases when I am acidic. Keeping my body in an alkaline balance seems to relieve that condition. To learn more, read Alkalize or Die, " a book available from Amazon.com through this link: http://tinyurl.com/yoynb9 With best wishes for 2008, Dudley Delany
Guest guest
Try meditation. I go for days without breathing [just a bit of hyperbole]. Keep up the yoga. Also, the related technique of pranyama would probably be of benefit. Drinking green tea as a regular beverage is soothing. > > > Elliot, > > I've been going through some mail and found this. I don't remember responding to your post. > > I feel that I breathe too fast too. I try to slow my breathing down but can't of course unless it's really quiet and I'm getting ready to sleep. I've tried a little of yoga, only what I've seen on TV but I've done that it it really helped with my breathing. But now, thirty years later I'm still breathing too fast! What can I do to relax me eough that I'm not speed beathing? > > Barbara > > ______________________________
Guest guest
My chiro Dr. Ulery, taught me how to breathe properly. He instructed me to: First stand straight. (a) put arms behind your back (b)put the left thumb underneath the right thumb © the four fingers of the right hand under the four fingers of the left hand. (d) protrude your chin forward while holding your shoulders back and lifting your joined two hands a bit to your waist (e) then breath a bit deep getting deeper as you count 1 2 3 4 at the same time you make your stomach protrude forward at each count making sure your chest does not rise (f) after the count of four, HOLD, count again 1 2 3 and 4 (g) then slowly exhale counting 1, 2, 3, 4 til the air is out. Repeat as often as you can, but for beginners, do it a little at a time til you get the hang of it. It made me sort of dizzy in the beginning. I think i originally did four then progressed slowly. I hope you find this exercise easier.
