Here are a couple of links to which you can refer people any time

they hear you are vegan and ask, " So where do you get your protein?

These vegan bodybuilders not only " get their protein, " they actually

BUILD muscle to the extent that they can compete in bodybuilding

contests:

For more information, just do a search under " vegan bodybuilding. " I

am not recommending anyone begin bodybuilding. It's a terribly time-

consuming effort, and not really worth much, as far as I am

concerned. I am only pointing out that there are people who can BUILD

muscle on a vegan diet, not just maintain muscle. I don't doubt that

such bodybuilders are far healthier than those who stuff themselves

with steak, eggs, cheese and milk.

Jack LaLanne was a vegan, by the way, and he did wild stuff like

towing a huge ocean ship with his teeth and other stunts.

Best wishes,

Elliot

From

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_LaLanne

When interviewed by Couric on NBC's Today show, LaLanne declared that his

two simple rules of nutrition are " if man made it, don't eat it " , and " if it

tastes good, spit it out. " He often says, " I cannot afford to die, it will ruin

my image. "

I recently have become mindful of Jack LaLanne. He is 93 now. I saw his juicer

commercial. Although he looks good for someone in his 90s, he kind of looks his

age.

Since starting the BP, we have been eating a lot of nuts. Well, we

always did but DH used to eat mostly peanuts. We are not supposed to

eat those because of aflatoxins, so he's been eating a lot of

Pistachios. I was googling places to buy them raw and found out they

also can have aflatoxin, as well as other trees nuts. Nuts are

supposed to be so good for you. So far I haven't been able to find a

chart comparing aflatoxin content of nuts and other foods. Has anyone

seen such a chart? I'm wondering if peanuts are a lot more

contaminated or exactly how much of a problem it is with the other

nuts.

In " The China Study, " showed that aflatoxin does not cause

cancer IF one is not eating more than 5% animal protein. How much

animal protein is your husband eating?
