Guest guest
Hi Lois I must tell you, I am an amateur at organic gardening. I was forced to grow a garden as a child as an appalachian slave child. I was raised by dysfunctional hillbillies, seriously. I often thought they got me mixed up at the hospital. I learn everything I need to know from my friends on soilandhealth . Steve the moderator wrote the book " Gardening when it counts " growing food in hard times. I like it because it explains everything, from how to use a hoe to complete organic fertilizer. There is another author on there also, Astera, a little more scientific but wrote a great book also. They will coach you along with all you need to know. It is so rewarding to grow your own food. I encourage you to just begin with a small garden in your yard. Soon there will be food shortages in our country and besides, most of the grocery store food isn't fit to eat. Check it out.
