Hi Lois

I must tell you, I am an amateur at organic gardening. I was forced to

grow a garden as a child as an appalachian slave child. I was raised

by dysfunctional hillbillies, seriously. I often thought they got me

mixed up at the hospital. :) I learn everything I need to know from my

friends on soilandhealth . Steve the moderator

wrote the book " Gardening when it counts " growing food in hard times.

I like it because it explains everything, from how to use a hoe to

complete organic fertilizer. There is another author on there also,

Astera, a little more scientific but wrote a great book also.

They will coach you along with all you need to know.

It is so rewarding to grow your own food.

I encourage you to just begin with a small garden in your yard. Soon

there will be food shortages in our country and besides, most of the

grocery store food isn't fit to eat.

Check it out.

All the best

Thanks so much for this info, I am going to be researching as I agree with you

about food in supermarkets not being good enough for human consumption.
