Guest guest
I have a magnetic blanket that I sleep with. My friend with cancer and places that hurt throughout her body swears by a new blanket she has called an earthing blanket. It was devised by an orthopedic dr and is having great success for those with pain. There is a book that goes along with it. I will give you the website. http://books.google.com/books?id=DtQVwPcBrr4C & printsec=frontcover & dq=earthing+st\ epehn+sinatra & source=bl & ots=2HXVDqry8q & sig=HUp06bbXKGahw2wFn_50mPWS25I & hl=en & ei=\ r-ljTYnPAoO8lQeZrI20BQ & sa=X & oi=book_result & ct=result & resnum=1 & ved=0CB0Q6AEwAA#v=\ onepage & q & f=false It is anti inflammatory and she says the pain in her body is greatly reduced. The book called Earthing explains why it works. I think it might be a better approach than the magnetic blankets. It is a lot less expensive as well!!! Look into them both From: dloven1@... Guest guest
I have read good things and bad things about magnets. There are many conflicting opinions. I do know a bio mat can be helpful with cancer as it produces far infrared rays. There are several different sizes and kinds. http://www.biomat.com/ Vic _______________________________ From: Debra <dloven1@...> Sent: Tue, February 22, 2011 how do they work and did it help with chemo? Guest guest
Yes, I know a lot about the biomats. I use it regularly and just got off of mine! If anyone wants the benefit of my experience with it, I am happy to share. However, I think this person is asking about magnets, which is another topic. I have been on the EMS 2000 which re-programs your body with magnets and a mask with light waves set at different times of the day. You lay on it for 16 minutes. Interesting experience. Some people swear by it. I love my biomat! Hope this is helpful. Carol > > I have read good things and bad things about magnets. There are many conflicting > opinions. Guest guest
Hi Carol: Please tell me about your bio mat and what you feel it has done for you. I am thinking about getting one for my wife, but already have a far infrared sauna. friend of mine is a doctor who teaches other doctors about cancer treatment, swears this is beneficial. Does this make you sweat? I know there are different temp settings. Guest guest
Hi Vic, I love my biomat and so do my friends who have one! Just got off the phone with a friend with breast cancer and she is never without it (she doesn't use her sauna that much anymore.) Personally, I love crystals, so it resonates with me. I have the minimat, which goes from your neck to your waist. You can put it on a recliner, tall chair, floor or bed. You can lay on it face up/down, and/or flip it and put it on top of you, because it is so portable. Yes, you control the heat. You turn up the control nob to highest and if it is too much you can fluctuate it til you can take it at high temp for about 40-60 minutes. Yes, you will sweat. Also, the far infrared penetrates about 4 " inches into the body. My understanding is that the cancer cells do not like the heat. And, since they have poor oxygenation, while the rest of your body is sweating and expelling the heat, the cancer cells actually hold it in longer and that is definitely not to their benefit! Quite the opposite. At the cancer clinic, my doctors bought the full size mat and the minimat. They put you inbetween like a sandwich, at full temp. This creates the full effect even stronger. Now I have the longer one at home, too, but still opt for the minimat most of the time. There is a free book you can have with the mat that tells about how it works with cancer. I can always get you or anyone else one if you want to read it first, I think. My favorite place to get it is at: www.healingartsgarden.com and the guy's name is Chris. Great person, full of integrity and definitely no sort of salesperson. Just a real and quiet fellow that I like a lot. If you call him, feel free to mention my name for an especially warm welcome. I don't recommend things very much, but this is one of my favorite tools! A few of my friends have one and they love it. A girl with lung cancer is having good results (along with her other treatments) and she uses it a lot! Alternately, some people put it on lower heat and sleep on it to help boost the immune system. I haven't done that. Well! Hope this helps. Happy to share. In health, Carol PS...I forgot to mention that I find it very meditative! Guest guest
P.S. Like all tools and methods, I recommend the biomat if you feel drawn to it. Some people like to stay with the saunas. I was never drawn to them. I originally tried the biomat at a friend's and fell in love with it ....and later....learned why! If you like it...enjoy! Guest guest
Hi, You are so welcome. Actually, call up (his number on that site) and ask him where that video is about the guy with prostate cancer who used the mat and his tumor markers went way down! I can't seem to locate that video but it used to be on his website. Or if you prefer, I'll be happy to call him and ask and let you know (he's such a nice fellow so I wouldn't mind finding out for you.) Who knows? Couldn't hurt to try and might really help! Especially if you feel drawn to it. Thanks for your feedback. Always good to share good things! Guest guest
Hi Carol: Thanks for the info, my doctor friend uses it for relaxing as well. She puts in a chair or recliner and tells me it is great for reducing stress. I am going to look into this, I think I could benefit from this as well. It is a chore sometimes to use the sauna, I think this would be much less of a chore and one can do this watching TV or listening to music. Vic ________________________________ From: Prem Carol <premcarolreiki@...> Sent: Wed, February 23, 2011 7:01:48 PM Subject: [ ] Re: anyone have experience with magnetic sleep boards?  Hi Vic, I love my biomat and so do my friends who have one!
