Guest guest
Hi, all I'm trying to get my head around what vitamin, mineral and herb supplements my mom should be taking. For sure echinacea, Vit C, Cod liver oil, Milk Thistle, Melatonin. She also takes the Budwig FOCC. There is a product made by the man who wrote " Beating Cancer with Nutrition " called Immunopower. It's a mixture of tons of different supplements in an easy to take pill and powder form. Has anyone used this? Any suggestions on what I should do? I certainly don't want to have her spend all her waking hours taking pills or spend $400 a month on immunopower if she doesn't need to. How do you narrow down what one should take? I appreciate any and all help, daughter of Robin, dx 5/08 with lieomyosarcoma primary tumor on leg, mets to liver
Guest guest
Is your mom willing to go on a raw food diet for health? In my experience, raw food is more powerful than all the supplements I ever took. Karl wrote: > I'm trying to get my head around what vitamin, mineral and herb > supplements my mom should be taking. Guest guest
Mom is eating as much raw veggies as possible, raw fruit, whole grains, etc. BUT, she still struggles with having an appetite. She would feel better knowing she was getting the vitamin and mineral nutrition she needs via supplementation so there was less pressure to eat so much. She's not losing weight right now. I've got it holding steady. > > I'm trying to get my head around what vitamin, mineral and herb > > supplements my mom should be taking. Guest guest
Those supplements sound powerful. And what diet is your mom on today? What pollution avoidance measures has she done? What has she done about sleep, sunshine, fresh air, and stress?
Guest guest
Hi , I'm a raw foodist. I've been one for seven years. That's six years prior to cancer - so, it can go a long way to help and has cured many. But it didn't do squat for me. It did, however, cure me of other ailments. Supplements are fine but they cannot replace the cancer fighting properties in the raw foods. I bought a vitamix blender and have used that daily to make a delicious smoothie. It is a great way to get lots of greens into the body as well as other nutrients. You may want to consider something like that. ar On Thu, 10 Jul 2008 13:14:46 -0000, " " <erin_m_karl@...> said: > Mom is eating as much raw veggies as possible, raw fruit, whole > grains, etc. BUT, she still struggles with having an appetite. Guest guest
Be CAREFUL! Make sure she takes iodized salt once in a while or an iodine supplement may REALLY help! A good ND can do an iodine urine test and diagnose mainly because lots of fruits and veggies can cause hormonal problems (Ie. goiter like what I had). Yea, I certainly suggest some type of Iodine supplement to keep her metabolism going, but go to a GOOD ND for the right dosage. You should have one anyway for supplement therapy. -Anth > Mom is eating as much raw veggies as possible, raw fruit, whole > grains, etc. BUT, she still struggles with having an appetite.
