Guest guest
Stay away from kerosene - it is dirty and I'm fairly positive it gave me multiple chemical sensitivities. Is there a way to get something electric? ar > > > Can anyone here tell me what the cleanest heating source would be. I don't want gas, I'm afraid of it so it would have to be kerosene, wood or pellet, which of the three would make for the cleanest air in your home. > > My husband has emphysema, & ?COPD, we're wanting to do away with the wood stove that we have thinking that a new wood stove might be cleaner but I wanted to check here first. > > We've checked on a pellet stove too. > > Barbara > > >
Guest guest
We're living on a fixed income. It would be nice to heat with electric but if the electric would go out we would have no heat. I'd rather not go with kerosene because of the odor. Barbara
Guest guest
>Hi, Barbara.. I know what you mean about fixed income. We just recently retired; quite a change. Hmmmm, you have a problem. Wood heat is cheap for sure (warms you 3 times they say, once when you cut it, again when you stack it & lastly when you burn it...lol). Seems to me if you were able to filter your air of the resultant smoke or exhaust the smoke w/o losing the heat, that would do the trick. Maybe a tiny exhaust fan for those times when it is 'smoking' and a couple of big floor air cleaners to run most of the time & remove smoke particulates?? Supposedly, federal money is out there for home improvements that make a 'green' impact; insulation, winterizing, heat pumps?? Might be something for you to look into. We will keep thinking. Good luck... Lola > > We're living on a fixed income.
