Guest guest
Hi all, Looking for help for my father who's been battling esophageal cancer - it may be back now with mets to the bones - still awaiting confirmation - he's had very confusing test results and the drs. aren't sure how to proceed. I am wondering if anyone in this group has used any alternative medicine clinics or doctors in the NY/NJ area, and if so, with what success? I suppose we are willing to travel for the best care available, but realistically I think it would be best if it were local for him. We will probably use a combination of conventional and alternative therapies if we do have a problem again - just trying to get prepared in advance just in case - still praying and hoping there is a differential diagnosis! Many thanks!

Guest guest
I have heard of Cancer Treatment Centers of America but was told they will not take state insurance coverage from Calif. How does one get treatment ? I have used my retirement saving on my surgery, chemo and radiation treatments !
Guest guest
Many thanks Jim... I believe they also have a center in the Philadelphia area, which isn't far for my father. I have heard good things about them, and we have been using Quillin's book " Beating Cancer with Nutrition " - he used to be director of nutrition there... God bless you too and best wishes for a complete recovery! " JIM BOTTALLA " wrote: >-I HAVE CARCINOMA SARCOMA MALIGNANT MIXEXD TUMOR OF THE SALIVARY > GLAND THAT METASTISED TO MY LUNGS. Guest guest
Also wondering about this too, as new to the game (if you can call it that - not exactly fun). I am sort of assuming insurance doesn't cover alternative treatment? Guest guest
Cancer Treatment Centers of America are not what a lot of people have been led to believe they are. By and large the major thrust is conventional cancer treatment with some effort at psychological and dietary improvements over most conventional cancer centers. People using there services will be directed to the 'Gold Standard' for their particular cancer meaning chemotherapy, radiation, or both. I suspect that if one is seeking conventional treatment they should do better at one of their centers. That Quillan was Director of Diet there doesn't mean much even though his book is outstanding. I know has recommended it to people. Joe C.
Guest guest
You might want to get on the oxyplus group or the ozonetherapy group and talk with Saul about an ozone sauna. You could also ozonate water with a unit. Vitamin O has cured an uncle with lung cancer along with Essiac Tea, but this sounds aggressive so you should examine these options quickly. Good luck. jp " macybean3 " wrote: Looking for help for my father who's been battling esophageal cancer - it may be back now with mets to the bones - still awaiting confirmation - he's had very confusing test results and the drs. aren't sure how to proceed. Guest guest
I was also treated at Cancer Center of America in Zion , Ill. While I found the doctors and staff more compassionate than the norm, I didn't think they were doing anything in my case out of the mainstream. They did send me to see a nutritionist but then I walked into the cafeteria and they were selling cheeseburgers and soda pop. They had a few OK things but as I remember they didn't even have organic selections.Prior to my leaving they also pushed a few hundred dollars of supplements on me. They were much better than my hometown hospital but at the same time I m thinking if you are truly looking for alternative this isn't the place to go.
