Jim,

I don't have enough details of your situation, but whatever it

is, if it has stopped the growth, if it is affordable and otherwise

doable, you need to continue with it as is. Your protocol includes

whey and I usually don't like this.

In assessing products such as whey where the science is

conflicting, you look at context. If the sales are marketing driven

then I would be cautious. If the sales are rising and word-of-mouth

driven then you might have something useful. Unfortunately the

people who did the initial marketing for undenatured whey very much

distorted the science in order to sell their overpriced product. In

those cases it is smart to wait it out to see how much money is spent

on marketing and what percentage of their market consists of new sales.

If a company is established and sells a lot of product, call them

up and ask. Try to get a feel for what kind of repeat business they

merit. While you have them on the phone always ask about the

situations in which their product truly excels and in what situations

it falls on its face. If they tell you it seems to work on

everything, then bang your phone on the table to see if you heard

them correctly.
