, I would think a connection between scoliosis and vomiting unlikely. It could certainly be a virus, as the mother mentioned, but given that the child has a complex neurological disorder, I'd think that should be considered. Many of us progressed significantly beyond 45 degrees without it causing gastric upset. But neurological issues such as migraines can cause nausea and vomiting.

Welcome Dana. Water, portions, and movement is key no matter what path you choose.

Happy New Year!

New member, New Beginning, going to try and do this for me. I have been on the treadmill already this morning.(Walked 10 mins for a start) I weigh in at 292 or so pounds. Oh by the way my name is Dana, I am 48 happily married and have a daughter that is 13. I am looking for any guidance any help that I can get. Hugs and God Bless

New member, New Beginning,

Welcome to you, and all

the others who have joined us since the holidays.

I have been on the treadmill already this morning.(Walked 10 mins for a start)

I have a love/hate

relationship with my treadmill. My cardiologist wants me to use it

up to an hour each day (Never gonna happen!) and my podiatrist

says to avoid it at all costs, that it's done more damage to my

feet than any other exercise I've ever done. But it *is*

guaranteed to get my pulse into the working heart rate range, so I

really should get back to it. 10 minutes to start is great!

I weigh in at 292 or so pounds.

My highest ever was 298,

and although I hit it twice in my life I refuse to get back up

there. I've been back and forth between 250 and 280 for the past,

oh, 25 years or so, no matter which food plan I follow. For the

bulk of 2011 I was in the 260's, finishing up at 268, where I was

again this morning, even after eating about 1200 cal daily the

past week.

I am looking for any guidance any help that I can get.

Find a food plan you can

stick to for the rest of your life and follow it. Get some

exercise in - start slow and build up to about 90 minutes a day,

the amount the experts now say is necessary for weight loss and

maintenance. Drink mostly water, work up to a half ounce per pound

of body weight (so at 292 that means 146 ounces, or about 18 cups

of liquids each day. Don't start off with that much right away or

you'll have a really upset stomach and be living in the bathroom.

Keep a journal and write down everything you eat and drink and all

the activities you do. You'll be able to find your trigger foods,

foods that cause you to gain (Like salty snacks) and foods that

help you to lose (like green salads and high fiber veggie soups).

And as you lose weight, eat less and exercise more than what you

were already doing.

And repeat infinitem for the rest of your life.
